Palworld 1.0 World Tree: How to Unlock It, Full Guide
In brief
The World Tree is the endgame area of Palworld 1.0, sealed behind an energy barrier that only Panthalus can deactivate. Recover four bones scattered across the map, craft the Echo Flute, capture the Legendary Pal, then access this highly toxic endgame zone where Radiant Gems and the level 80 final boss await.
The World Tree is the major endgame area in Palworld 1.0, planted at the far northwest of the map and protected by an impassable energy barrier. There's no forcing your way through: the only key to lowering this barrier is to capture the legendary Pal Panthalus. Here's the step-by-step process.
Before you get started
The World Tree is very high-level content. The wild Pals roaming there are well above level 70, and some areas are bathed in toxic gas that continuously drains your health. So make sure to bring a solid team, good weapons, a stock of healing items, and above all a Corrosion-Resistant Mask to survive the poisoned biomes. To start the quest that leads to Panthalus, you must first complete all the Syndicate Towers, which is no small task, but that's not today's topic.

Step 1: Meet the Researcher on Deserted Islet
It all starts with the Researcher of an Ancient Civilization, an NPC found on Deserted Islet, north of the Windswept Hills. Talk to him: he gives you the Panthalus quest, which involves recovering four bones scattered across the map.
Step 2: Collect the four bones
Each bone rests on a massive whale skeleton that emits a glow visible from afar. You'll need:
- the Bone of the Tide
- the Bone of Silence
- the Bone of Foam
- the Bone of the Breeze
The order is entirely up to you: you can even collect all of them before talking to the Researcher. Some are hidden in volcanic or icy areas, so bring the appropriate resistances.
Step 3: Craft the Echoing Flute
With all four bones in hand, go back to the Researcher: he'll give you the Worn Blueprint, which unlocks the recipe for the Echoing Flute. Craft it at any workbench using the four bones.

Step 4: Summon and capture Panthalus
Bring the flute back to the Researcher, then interact with the nearby glowing symbols to summon Panthalus (level 70). The fight is limited to ten minutes and takes place in an entirely aquatic arena: a fast flying mount is essential to dodge its charges. Good news: once its health is depleted, its capture is guaranteed at 100% - you won't risk losing it.

Step 5: Lower the barrier
Back with the Researcher, complete the quest, then head to the terminal located in front of the World Tree's barrier, with Panthalus in your active team. Interact with the terminal: the energy barrier then disappears permanently, opening up access to the area.
What awaits you inside
The World Tree is divided into several biomes, including toxic gas sectors and dens of overpowered Pals. Here you can gather the Radiant Gems essential to the awakening system, as well as Mystic Wood and Sacred Water of the World Tree. At the summit of this region awaits the campaign's final battle, a level 80 boss with no elemental weakness - the ultimate challenge for any tamer who has defeated Panthalus.
