In brief

Palworld 1.0 reworks its five Syndicate Towers, the unmissable trainer boss fights of the campaign. This guide breaks down each showdown in the logical order of progression, from the temperate south to the icy plateaus, with recommended levels, elemental weaknesses, sharp strategies and optimal team compositions to dominate every fight.

Palworld just switched over to version 1.0 on July 11, 2026, and Pocketpair took the opportunity to rework its five iconic fights: the Syndicate Towers. Whether you're a new tamer just landing on the archipelago or a player returning after a long absence, these tower bosses remain the throughline of the main campaign. This guide runs through the five towers in logical progression order, from the temperate south to the icy plateaus, with the recommended level, the elemental weakness to exploit, the overall strategy, and the Pals to keep on hand for each one.

1. Zoe and Grizzbolt - Rayne Syndicate Tower

Fight against Zoe and Grizzbolt in Palworld

The very first tower boss stands in the Windswept Hills, north of the starting island. Zoe is perched atop her giant Grizzbolt, an Electric-type Pal known for its massive charges and area-of-effect lightning bursts. The fight plays out in a tight ten minutes, in a round arena dotted with concrete pillars that will serve as cover throughout the encounter.

Level and elements

  • Recommended level: 10 to 15
  • Boss type: Electric
  • Weakness: Ground

Strategy

Grizzbolt alternates between three main attacks: a straight-line frontal charge, a slow lightning ball that crosses the arena, and an area roar when you get too close. Roll to dodge the charge, use the pillars to block the lightning ball, and consistently aim for Zoe's head: critical damage on the tamer pays off more than damage spread across the Pal's bulk.

Tip: keep a Ground-type Pal in your active team. Rushoar is perfectly suited to this level, its charge deals massive damage to the Electric type, and it's easy to catch in the central plains with a few PalSpheres.

Recommended gear

  • Crossbow or triple-shot bow
  • Refined leather armor
  • Pals: Rushoar, Fuddler, Daedream

2. Lily and Lyleen - Free Pal Alliance Tower

Jungle tower and Lyleen boss fight in Palworld

Head to the wooded region in the northeast, a lush jungle atmosphere bordered by a mountainous biome. Lily rides Lyleen, an elegant Plant-type creature with graceful movements but treacherous area damage. This is the campaign's first real difficulty spike: don't attempt this tower before stocking up on ancient technology points from the side dungeons.

Level and elements

  • Recommended level: 25 to 30
  • Boss type: Plant (with secondary Water and Dark attacks)
  • Weakness: Fire

Strategy

Lyleen chains three priority moves: a homing seed projectile, slow water bubbles you can pop with a single shot, and a healing field that regenerates her if you don't interrupt it. Stay at medium range and circle around the arena to dodge the seeds. Swap out your Pals as soon as they drop below 50% HP: they naturally regenerate while in reserve.

Tip: bring a flaming arrow bow to complement your regular crossbow. The Fire elemental bonus against the Plant type doubles your damage if you target Lyleen rather than Lily herself.

Recommended gear

  • Crossbow plus flaming arrow bow, at least 100 rounds of ammo
  • Improved leather armor or reinforced cloth armor
  • Pals: Wixen, Rooby, Ragnahawk, Kelpsea Ignis

3. Axel and Orserk - Eternal Flame Brotherhood Tower

Volcano ascent and Eternal Flame tower

Head southwest, to Mount Obsidian. The tower stands atop the map's largest volcano, surrounded by lava flows and blazing fires. Heat-resistant armor is an absolute must: without it, your health bar melts away with every second of the climb. Use the Volcano Base fast travel point to skip the ascent.

Level and elements

  • Recommended level: 40 to 45
  • Boss types: Dragon and Electric
  • Weaknesses: Ice and Ground

Strategy

Orserk hits hard and fast, alternating between cone-shaped lightning bursts, mid-range dragon bites, and an electric breath that sweeps the entire arena. Stay mobile and hit the ground rolling as soon as you hear the breath attack's telltale rumble. Never field a Water or Dark Pal: they take massively increased damage and get knocked out in two hits.

Tip: Fenglope is an ideal mount for this fight. Its Ice attacks hit Orserk's double weakness, and riding it lets you dodge the breath attacks far more easily than on foot.

Recommended gear

  • Assault rifle, at least 200 rounds of ammo
  • Heat-resistant metal armor plus a giga shield
  • Pals: Fenglope, Foxcicle, Anubis, Warsect

4. Marcus and Faleris - Wildlife Sanctuary Tower

Fight against Faleris in the Palworld desert

Head to the vast desert on the eastern side of the map, an arid biome that demands heat-proof gear and a good water supply. The People's Militia Tower looms over the dunes and houses Marcus, a tenacious military commander, along with Faleris, his fire raptor with incandescent plumage. Be warned: this boss is very close in power to Axel, so don't underestimate it.

Level and elements

  • Recommended level: 40 to 45
  • Boss type: Fire
  • Weakness: Water

Strategy

Faleris spends most of the fight airborne, peppering you with fireballs, while Marcus fires his rifle from its back. Top priority: aim for Marcus's head to interrupt his volleys and save ammo. Use the pillars to break line of sight and force Faleris down within range. A rocket launcher works wonders during the phases when the duo comes down to ground level.

Tip: Jormuntide is probably the most cost-effective Pal in the game for this fight. Its ranged Water attacks literally melt Faleris's health bar, and its bulk lets it soak up multiple fire attacks without flinching.

Recommended gear

  • Assault rifle plus backup rocket launcher
  • Heat-proof outfit, refined armor
  • Pals: Jormuntide, Azurobe, Suzaku Aqua

5. Victor and Shadowbeak - PAL Genetic Research Unit Tower

The last of the five fights takes you to the far northwest, deep in the glacial region, around coordinates (-142, 437). Bring cold-resistant paluminum armor, or simply crossing the plateau will drain your health bar. Shadowbeak is a pure Dark-type Pal, very fast and particularly aggressive: it targets you first rather than your Pals.

Level and elements

  • Recommended level: 50 minimum
  • Boss type: Dark
  • Weakness: Dragon

Strategy

Shadowbeak lunges at you in bounds and follows up with waves of black feathers. You need to kite constantly, circling around the central pillars. Rotate two Dragon Pals in support to keep the pressure on without ever finding yourself without an available mount. An Incineram Noct can steal aggro for a few crucial seconds, giving you time to reload and land a precise volley on Victor's head.

Tip: Astegon combines high resistance to Dark damage with a devastating Dragon moveset. If you caught one while crossing the northern ruins, save it for last, it usually finishes the boss in a single phase.

Recommended gear

  • Shotgun or advanced assault rifle, 200 rounds of ammo
  • Cold-proof paluminum armor
  • Pals: Astegon, Quivern, Relaxaurus Lux, Felbat for healing

Rewards and what's next

Each tower you defeat grants five ancient technology points, the special resource that unlocks endgame items: reinforced grappling hooks, power statues, and top-tier armor. Clearing all five syndicates therefore gives you access to the full endgame crafting tree, but also to post-1.0 content, including the additional Sakurajima and Feybreak towers, which are even more demanding. Take time to farm between each tower: gaining two or three levels above the recommended minimum radically improves your combat comfort.

Frequently asked questions

What level should I be before attempting the first Syndicate Tower?
Zoe and Grizzbolt fight around level 10-15. It's doable from your very first battles, but bring a Ground Pal like Rushoar to really hit where it hurts: that's essentially the whole fight.
What's the biggest difficulty spike between two Towers?
Lily and Lyleen mark a real turning point: jumping from level 15 to level 25-30 all at once is brutal. Rotate your Pals regularly and never get too close, or her healing zone will wear you down to death.
Is Fenglope really essential to beat Axel and Orserk?
No, but it's the best pick: its Ice attacks hit Orserk's double weakness, and you dodge the breath attacks much more easily while mounted. Without it, just stick with Ice Pals like Foxcicle and play mobile.
How do I reach Victor and Shadowbeak in the north without freezing?
Get some cold-resistant Palladium armor ready before even crossing the plateau. Use the fast travel points: this isn't a hero's race, it's simply short on time.
Which Pal can replace Jormuntide if I don't have it for the Marcus fight?
Azurobe and Suzaku Aqua get the job done, but with far less impact. Jormuntide is truly rock-solid for this fight: its ranged Water attacks literally melt Faleris.

Key takeaways

  • Start with Zoe and Grizzbolt around level 10-15: this is the real tutorial, exploit the Ground weakness with Rushoar.
  • Lily and Lyleen at level 25-30 mark the first genuine difficulty spike: rotate your Pals regularly to avoid wearing them down.
  • Axel and Orserk, then Marcus and Faleris require level 40-45: Fenglope dominates the first, Jormuntide crushes the second.
  • Victor and Shadowbeak in the icy north are the last hurdle at level 50+: keep kiting constantly with two Dragon Pals rotating in and out.
  • Elemental gear (fire-imbued bows, assault rifle, rocket launcher) and armor suited to the biome matter just as much as your Pals' level.
