Kilima Village, your new home

Everything begins with the introductory quest Welcome to Palia, given by Jina, the young apprentice researcher at the Bahari Institute. After a dizzying fall from a starry sky, your character finds themselves thrust into an unknown world, and their first objective is to reach Kilima Village by following the compass icon. Once there, you meet Ashura, the innkeeper of the Ormuu's Horn Inn, who escorts you to your new residential plot.

There, Hodari, Najuma's father and head of the Miners' Guild, is already waiting to teach you the basics of clearing land. Armed with a makeshift axe and pickaxe, you clear away the debris, build the walls of your cottage using 89 units of sapwood, 10 stone, and 2 flint, then craft your first workbench. Three pieces of furniture later (a wooden chest, a log wardrobe, and a chair), Mayor Kenli confirms your official settlement. The quest rewards 15 Renown points and immediately unlocks the next one, Learning the Ropes.

Learning trades from the villagers

The second main quest, entrusted by Ashura, serves as a tour of the game's activities. You must visit five iconic Kilima characters:

• Auni, the enthusiastic child from the Bug Scouts Club, teaches you how to catch bugs after a very cute, solemn oath.

She asks you to inspect the ruins scattered across the bay and report your findings back to her. This is where the story takes on an unexpected dimension: the Humans did exist, left behind technological remains, and mysteriously disappeared.

Bahari Bay is also home to the quest Something Afoot in Bahari Bay, an investigation-focused side thread in which Kenyatta, the magistrate's daughter, puts you on the trail of the Bahari Ripper. You search high-up caves, decipher clues, and dig up a local cold case. Still in the bay, treasure hunters can take on the quest for the four Dragon Statues, which unlocks the Flooded Fortress, a sunken dungeon packed with rewards.

The four ancient temples and the Vaults

The heart of Palia's story unfolds across the four great Human temples, scattered between Bahari Bay and the Elderwood.
