NTE (Neverness to Everness): The ultimate drift guide

The drift is a driving technique that requires you to control a vehicle while sliding on the road while maintaining speed. In Neverness to Everness (NTE), being comfortable with drifting is the key to winning street races with flair and impressing your friends. Let's see how to become a drift master in NTE.

What is drifting?

Drifting consists of making the rear of your car slide in a controlled manner. It sounds simple on paper, but it takes practice. To initiate a drift, you need to accelerate at the right moment; the way you turn the wheel will affect the quality of the drift. Drifting is triggered with the handbrake.

Drift controls in NTE

To perform a drift in NTE, you need to know the following controls:

• Acceleration: build up speed as you enter the turn,
• Handbrake: press the handbrake button while turning,
• Steering: release the handbrake and steer in the opposite direction (to exit the drift).

Don't release the accelerator abruptly during the drift: if you need to slow down, gradually reduce your speed to stabilize the vehicle. The moment to release the handbrake depends on the curve of the turn. Generally, don't hold the handbrake for more than a second. Release the handbrake quickly in tight turns so you don't lose too much speed. In wider turns, you can hold it a bit longer, but stay alert.

Ideal spots to practice drifting

Here are some suggestions:

• Whitetail Ridge Road: a good area to train with other players.
• The bridge before entering the Anomaly Control Bureau: a quieter area to practice.

Car upgrades for drifting and best vehicle

Modifying your car is an important factor in improving your drift:

• Limited-Slip Differential (LSD): Preferably an LSD dedicated to drifting such as the LSD005 for the C2000.
• High-performance engine: With a powerful engine, you'll maintain speed during the drift.
• Default LSD: For the ST79, keep the original LSD.
• Advanced LSD: For more cinematic drifts, you can go for a pricier option.

Not all vehicles are suited to drifting. Here are some examples of recommended vehicles:

• C2000: very good handling and strong drift performance.
• ST79: harder to handle, can provide a thrilling experience.
