In brief

Lost Ark is merging its 12 Western servers into 5 on August 26 and September 2, 2026. It's excellent news for the fluidity of group content, but seven event rewards disappear on August 19 if you don't claim them beforehand. This guide breaks down the server-by-server merges, what happens to your account, and the foolproof checklist to complete this week.

Amazon Games published the details on August 4, 2026 of the operation that the Western Lost Ark community had been waiting for for months: 12 servers will be merged into 5, in two waves, on August 26 and September 2, 2026.

It's good news at its core — shorter matchmaking queues, easier group formation, a more liquid auction house — but it's also a risky operation for your account if you don't prepare. Some rewards won't survive the merge, and the deadline falls on August 19, a week before the first wave.

This guide lists the server merges one by one, explains what happens to your roster, your fortress and your guild, and provides the checklist to complete before the deadline.

The schedule

  • August 19, 2026 — early end of several events and deadline to claim their rewards.
  • August 26, 2026 — merge phase 1.
  • September 2, 2026phase 2, final consolidation.

One important point to clarify right away: this is a server merge within each region, not a merge of regions. Your EU Central characters will remain on EU Central; there's no question of mixing Europe and North America.

The merges, server by server

EU Central

Phase 1 (August 26):

  • Ortuus → Arcturus
  • Ratik → Elpon

Phase 2 (September 2):

  • Gienah → Arcturus (which has already absorbed Ortuus)

Final state: two servers remain on EU Central, Elpon and Arcturus.

NA East

Phase 1 (August 26):

  • Nineveh → Balthorr
  • Luterra → Vairgrys
  • Brelshaza → Thaemine

Phase 2 (September 2):

  • Balthorr (with Nineveh) → Inanna

Final state: three servers remain on NA East, Inanna, Vairgrys and Thaemine.

Note: the document published by Amazon Games mentions neither NA West, nor EU West, nor South America. If you play on one of these regions, consider that you're not affected as things stand — but keep an eye on official communications until August 26.

What happens to your account

Amazon is applying a standardized framework of four rules, which you need to keep in mind to understand the rest: Max (the highest value is kept), Sum (values are added together), Union (merged with duplicates removed) and Reset (return to default configuration).

Your characters and your roster

If all your characters are on a single server, there's nothing to do: you'll simply log in on the new server.

If you had characters on several merged servers, the rosters are combined. The main character becomes the one with the highest item level — an automatic choice you'll be able to adjust manually afterward.

Two points to watch out for:

  • character slots are reset, and purchased expansions are refunded in the form of tickets;
  • all characters go through universal character storage before reassignment. Don't panic if your roster looks empty on first login.

Your fortress

The fortress kept is the one with the highest level (Max rule). Structures are added together (Sum rule), and any surplus is discarded with a crystal refund.

If you had two active fortresses on two merged servers, take stock of the less advanced one before August 26: anything not retrieved from it will be lost for good.

Your guild

Guilds are transferred along with their members, with membership maintained. This is probably the most reassuring point of the whole operation: communities won't be dissolved by the merge.

The auction house

This is where you need to pay attention. All auction house listings are cancelled, and the items involved are returned by mail, with a 30-day retrieval window.

Thirty days is comfortable — but a full mailbox could be a problem. Clear your mail before the merge so as not to block the return.

Roster storage and Bifrost

The contents of roster storage are moved to universal storage. As for Bifrost, saved locations are reset and the number of slots is recalculated based on your roster level and your Ignea Tokens. So plan to reconfigure your teleport shortcuts after the merge.

The checklist before August 19

This is the most urgent part of this article. Several events are ending earlier than planned to make way for the merge: the Kazeros Challenge Express, the Twilight Road, the Twilight exchange shop, and the Mokoko Bootcamp end on August 19, instead of the originally announced September 16.

Here's what you need to wrap up:

  1. Claim all Express event rewards before August 19. This is the most important line: a month of lost Express progress can't be recovered.
  2. Claim all Ark Pass rewards before it closes.
  3. Claim login event rewards, which end about a week before the merge.
  4. Spend your card XP. Don't let it sit unused: it's one of the resources that could be lost.
  5. Collect your training camp experience.
  6. Cancel your auction house listings and your currency exchange registrations. Doing it yourself will keep you from depending on the return mail.
  7. Clear your mail to make sure you can receive returned items.

We're adding a recommendation that doesn't appear in the official communication but is simply common sense: take screenshots of your fortress, your roster inventory, and your character list before August 26. In case of a dispute with support, a dated record is worth more than memories.

The content arriving in parallel

The merge isn't the only project in August. Kazeros Act 2 Extreme — the second raid in the Extreme series, a month after Act 1 — is expected this month. Amazon Games has remained sparing with details in its roadmap: neither the required item level nor the rewards have been announced, with the studio simply announcing a reworked version of Kazeros Raid Act 2. We will update this article as soon as the full patch notes are published.

If you haven't yet tackled the Extreme version of Act 1, our guide to the first Extreme raid published on July 23 remains the best preparation: the mechanics of the series are similar from one act to the next.

Further ahead, September will bring the new Warpweaver class, which wields clock hands and manipulates time and space. It will offer two distinct paths: Time Manager, focused on recovering cooldowns with each hit landed, and Spatial Swordsman, which guarantees back attacks. New players will start with 6 Relic cores and pre-upgraded gear, with no manual honing, via the new Base Camp progression system.

Should you be worried?

A server merge has long been seen as a sign of decline in the MMO world. In Lost Ark's case, the picture is more nuanced: the game launched in the West with a number of servers calibrated to the 1.3 million concurrent players of its early days, a peak no one expected to sustain. Consolidating the population onto five worlds is mainly an acknowledgment of a three-year-old reality.

What matters to you, concretely: easier-to-form raid parties, an auction house with more volume and less erratic prices, and Chaos Gate and Guardian Raid queues that fill up. For a game whose endgame relies entirely on group content, this is probably the most substantial quality-of-life improvement of the year.

Provided, then, that you don't miss August 19.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I have characters on multiple servers at the same time?
Your rosters are merged into one, and the character with the highest item level automatically becomes your main character (though you can adjust this manually afterward). All character slots go through universal storage before reassignment, so don't panic if your roster looks empty on first login.
Will my mail and auction house listings disappear?
No, but it's up to you. All auction house listings are cancelled and items are returned by mail with a 30-day retrieval window. Just empty your mailbox before the merge so you don't block the return process, and cancel your own listings rather than relying on the automatic system.
Will my guild be disbanded?
No, guilds are transferred in full along with their members and membership. This is probably the most reassuring part of the whole operation: your communities survive without a hitch.
What should I do with my fortress before August 26?
If you had two fortresses on two merging servers, take inventory of the less developed one and collect everything from it. The higher-level fortress will be kept, and any excess structures will be refunded in crystals. Anything not collected before the merge will be lost.
Which rewards are at risk of disappearing?
The Kazeros Challenge Express, the Twilight Road, the Twilight exchange shop, and the Mokoko Bootcamp end on August 19 instead of September 16. Claim everything before that date, and spend your card XP too, since it's a resource that could be lost in the merge.

Key takeaways

  • EU Central and NA East servers are merging in two phases (August 26 and September 2), but NA West, EU West, and South America are not affected for now.
  • Claim your Express, Ark Pass, and login event rewards before August 19, or they'll be gone for good.
  • Your fortress, guilds, and characters are kept, but storage and your mailbox get reset: empty your mail before the merge.
  • Spend your card XP and collect your training camp experience before August 19, since these resources don't carry over.
  • For an MMO, this merge means easier group formation, a more liquid auction house, and matchmaking queues that finally move.
