In brief

Season 4 of Paradise (July 2026 to February 2027) thoroughly reworks Lost Ark's anti-grind system with new orbs, checkpoints every ten floors in Hell, and luck-based rewards. Between Elysian for gear, Crucible for keys, and Hell for honing materials, this weekly loop replaces a large chunk of daily farming with short but rewarding challenges.

Launched on July 15, 2026 with the Summer of Extremes update, Season 4 of Paradise runs until February 3, 2027. Seven months to stack up character-bound honing materials, push a Legacy of Paradise score that stays locked in at the end of the season, and chase the new ranking rewards: an adventurer badge, title, and banner. All of it starting at ilvl 1640, with no dependency on your regular gear.

Paradise remains the big "anti-grind" pivot kicked off by Smilegate and Amazon Games in the summer of 2025: three short activities — Elysian, Crucible, and the Hell dungeon — that replace part of the daily farm with a weekly loop offering guaranteed rewards. Season 4 tweaks several important gears of it: drop points every ten floors in Hell, a luck reward, two new orbs (Orb of the Blazing Sun and Orb of the Spreading Mist), and a big cleanup of the first season's orbs.

Here's how each activity works, what has changed, and the weekly routine that makes the most of your entries. Useful note: since the official Lost Ark pages are no longer served in French and the French-speaking press keeps the original labels, we're keeping the English names of the system here (Paradise, Elysian, Crucible, Hell).

The Paradise loop in a nutshell

Paradise unlocks at ilvl 1640 and runs alongside your normal progression: Legacy of Paradise gear doesn't take up any slot in your usual gear, and the challenges are calibrated independently of your item level. The loop is simple: Elysian provides gear and tickets, Crucible turns those tickets into Hell Keys and reward milestones, and Hell converts your keys into honing materials. Almost everything that drops from Hell is character-bound, so choose carefully who you send in.

Legacy of Paradise: six items, Restoration and Resonance

The seasonal gear covers six unique slots — Censer, Whistle, Mask, Liquor Glass, Bell, and Mirror. Its power progression relies on two mechanics:

  • Restoration: you raise the level of each slot with Restoration Stones, obtained by dismantling surplus Paradise gear. Each attempt can fail, but the unlocked effects apply regardless of the equipped item's grade.
  • Resonance: once a slot reaches level 9 with a legendary item equipped, this second system boosts skill damage via Resonance Stones. Each item climbs through ranks up to SS, and your overall legacy grade progresses from Bronze III up to Sidereal.

All of this feeds your Legacy of Paradise score, which serves both as a difficulty recommendation and as a damage multiplier for orbs. A detail that matters this season: this score is locked in at the end of the season — what you build now won't be lost.

Elysian: five entries per week, the gateway to everything else

Elysian follows the Chaos Gate formula: waves of monsters to clear, a boss to finish it off, short sessions. Each character has five weekly attempts, occasionally topped up by bonus entries from Crucible rewards or stone exchanges. It's the main source of Legacy of Paradise gear, and it's also where the entry tickets for Crucible drop: never let these five runs expire.

Crucible: the time trial that funds your week

Crucible pits you against increasingly tough bosses, stopwatch in hand: the faster you deal damage, the higher you rank. Entry requires a ticket, obtained in Elysian or bought for 100,000 silver. Rewards come through three channels:

  • weekly: Hell Keys and temporary titles based on your ranking;
  • seasonal: gold and cosmetics;
  • milestones: Honing Support Selection Chests, Regulus's Light currency chests, and Crucible-stamped material selection chests.

Even without aiming for the top of the leaderboard, clearing the milestones each week remains the most reliable way to stock your keyring for Hell.

Hell: 100 floors, keys, and altars

Hell is a random descent through a 100-floor tower: each jump drops you between one and twenty floors, and the number of descents depends on the key used—five with a rare key, six with an epic one, seven with a legendary one. The lower you finish, the better the rewards. Two types of altars punctuate the fall:

  • Hell Altars, guaranteed on floors 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, and 99: here you choose a boon—an extra descent, a choice between four chests instead of three, a chest with tenfold materials, or a guaranteed drop of at least sixteen floors.
  • Transmutation Altars, with a 20% chance to appear (guaranteed on floors 50 and 100): they reroll your key, with a 15% chance to downgrade it by one level, 15% by two levels, 15% to upgrade it by one level, 15% by two levels… and 40% to turn it into a Netherworld key.

What's changing in Hell in Season 4

  • Drop Points: every ten floors, a drop point offers you a gamble. On success, you plunge as with a big jump—Maxroll's measurements give a 63% chance of dropping at least sixteen floors; on failure (37%), you climb back up several floors.
  • Luck Reward: three consecutive drops of the same distance trigger a bonus.
  • Readability: records now only display the current season.

Netherworld: the sudden-death variant that pays double

Keys obtained through transmutation open a version of Hell with markedly higher rewards, paired with a brutal rule: the Netherworld Flame Key kills you on odd-numbered floors, with altars reduced to floors 22, 44, 66, and 88; the Netherworld Frost Key kills you on even-numbered floors, with altars on floors 11, 33, 55, 77, and 99, and a safe floor 100. You only get one resurrection per run, but you can cash out your gains at any time to secure your stake. Play it tight: it's better to walk away with an average chest than an empty inventory.

Orbs: Blazing Sun, Spreading Mist, and a big cleanup

Unlike the rest of the Paradise gear, the orbs persist from one season to the next. Season 4 introduces two of them — Orb of the Blazing Sun and Orb of the Spreading Mist — and in return removes the Season 1 orbs from all inventories. Their damage is multiplied by your Legacy of Paradise score, the very same one that locks in at the end of the season. Stay clear-eyed about their real weight: the gain remains modest, comparable to that of a Bleed or Poison rune. It's a bonus worth taking, not a reason to overhaul your build.

Which materials depending on your item level

Hell's chests scale with your ilvl bracket. From 1640 to 1700, you come away with the classic Destiny materials: guardian stones, destruction stones, leapstones and fragments. From 1730 to 1750, the table shifts to the crystallized versions and Great Destiny Leapstones. Netherworld chests provide the same materials in far greater quantities. And whichever chest you choose, a small allotment of honing materials is always included on top.

The weekly routine that makes the season worthwhile

Concretely, on each eligible character: first clear your five Elysian runs, dismantle duplicates to feed Restoration, then spend your tickets in Crucible aiming for the weekly milestones rather than the leaderboard. Save your legendary keys (seven descents) for weeks when you can finish the descent without rushing, and always attempt the transmutation at floors 50 and 100: a 40% chance of getting a Netherworld key is the best bet in the system. Since nearly all of Hell's rewards are character-bound, focus your keys on the one you're actually honing instead of spreading them across your roster. Finally, push at least one Legacy of Paradise slot to level 9 with a legendary item to unlock Resonance: that's what will make the difference in your final score, locked in on February 3, 2027 when the season closes.

Frequently asked questions

What item level do I need to access Paradise Season 4?
You need a minimum ilvl of 1640. That's the only requirement, and Legacy of Paradise gear works alongside your regular gear without taking up any slots.
What rewards does Crucible guarantee me each week?
Crucible gives you Hell Keys based on your weekly ranking, temporary titles, and above all milestones — these milestones unlock the most reliable honing support chests to fill your Hell Keys pouch.
Will my Legacy of Paradise score be lost at the end of the season?
No, that's the big change this season: your Legacy score is locked in and will remain yours. The Paradise gear itself will be replaced, but your overall progress persists.
What happens if I fail a checkpoint wager in Hell?
You move back up several floors instead of going down. Maxroll's statistics give a 63% chance of descending sixteen floors or more on success, meaning a 37% failure rate — how much risk to take depends on your comfort level and current loot.
Are the Blazing Sun and Spreading Mist orbs worth actively farming?
Their gain remains modest, comparable to that of a Bleed or Poison rune. Treat them as a bonus at the end of a Hell run rather than a reason to restructure your build — the real loot is the honing materials.

Key takeaways

  • Paradise unlocks at ilvl 1640 independently of your regular gear, and your Legacy score will remain locked in after the season ends.
  • The loop revolves around three activities: Elysian provides gear and tickets, Crucible converts them into Hell keys, and Hell converts them into honing materials.
  • The two new orbs (Blazing Sun and Spreading Mist) have their damage multiplied by your Legacy score, but their gain remains modest compared to a classic rune.
  • Hell now offers checkpoints on floors that are multiples of ten with variable-success wagers, plus a new reward mechanic for three identical consecutive drops.
  • The Netherworld charges double but kills on every odd floor (Flame Key) or even floor (Frost Key), with only one resurrection per run — safe earnings beat ruin.
