In brief
The Snowscourge Shrine in Ghost of Yotei is a complex puzzle with no clues, located west of the Red Crane Inn. The solution relies on observing the gestures of the carved foxes, which show you which pillars to light and in what order to open the closed door.
Among the many adventures in Ghost of Yotei, the Snow Blight Shrine stands out for its complexity and the complete absence of any hints. Located in the game's fourth region, this shrine is truly a puzzle. Let's see together how to solve it and what awaits you behind the door...
"To solve this puzzle, you need to pay attention to the carved foxes located behind the stage"

Location and context of the Shrine puzzle
The Snow Blight Shrine is located west of the Red Crane Inn in the Teshio Crest region. You can reach it by heading toward the surrounding hot springs. Once there, Atsu will wonder about the meaning of the carvings present.

Lingering in the area, you'll discover several fox sculptures (kitsune) placed on pillars of light. Nearby, you'll be able to spot a closed door. To open it, you'll need to solve the puzzle present here!
The first thing to do is understand that the lit braziers around the closed door can be manipulated. You'll be able to interact with them to pick up a torch and light the pillars, but be careful, you'll need to know which ones to light, and in what order.

Step-by-step solving method
To solve this puzzle, you need to pay attention to the carved foxes located behind the stage. The key lies in the gestures they perform. You'll be able to match each pillar to light with the corresponding fox's gesture.
Here is the detailed process:
- For the first three sculptures located on the left, you must light the leftmost pillar.
- For the second sculpture on the right, where you can see a fox howling in the background, light the rightmost pillar.
- Then climb onto the small ledge near the door, and you'll discover the last set of sculptures. A brazier is also present: grab the torch and light the middle pillar.

After passing through the newly opened door, follow the path ahead of you. You'll soon arrive at the Snow Blight Shrine Den, an area infested with members of the Nine Kitchens that you'll need to kill to free a prisoner.

As you head toward the exit, you'll notice another puzzle involving a fox, here it's about lighting only two pillars by observing the two foxes in the background. To do this, light the left sculpture for both sides. Once this action is completed, a path will open up high above, leading you to the Altar of Reflection as well as the Kitsune Puzzle.
