EA Sports FC 26: the 9 FUTTIES Token Exchange SBCs close on August 13, which ones are worth it
In brief
Nine FUTTIES Token Swap SBCs close on August 13 and reward 300 tokens with no gameplay required. The catch: completing all of them costs 187,000 credits, but some swaps are four times more cost-effective than others. Here's the ranking by cost per token and what actually deserves your fodder stock before the lights go out.
The nine Token Swap SBCs in EA Sports FC 26 close on Thursday, August 13. Put together, they yield 300 FUTTIES tokens without playing a single match — nearly a third of the FUTTIES store's weekly spending cap. But completing all of them costs around 187,000 coins at August 10 prices, and a good chunk of that sum goes to pure waste.
The context sets the pace. FUTTIES started on July 24, and EA announces four weeks of promotion on its official French page: the campaign therefore fades out around August 21, and all three token stores already display their closing countdown. No carryover of unspent tokens into FC 27 has been announced. Here is the ranking of the nine swaps by cost per token, the trap of the word "exactly", and what's genuinely worth buying before the lights go out.
The nine swaps ranked by cost per token
Each SBC requires player items of an exact overall rating (OVR), never "or higher". The amounts below are the cheapest solution found on console on the morning of August 10 on FUT Mind; the last column is our calculation.
| SBC | What it requires | Tokens | Console cost | Coins per token |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 88 OVR Token Swap | 5 88 OVR player items | 40 | ~5,200 | 130 |
| 87 OVR Token Swap | 7 87 OVR player items | 30 | ~8,600 | 287 |
| 86 OVR Token Swap | 8 86 OVR player items | 15 | ~6,600 | 440 |
| 89 OVR Token Swap | 5 89 OVR player items | 50 | ~24,750 | 495 |
| 90 OVR Token Swap | 5 90 OVR player items | 60 | ~42,750 | 713 |
| 85 OVR Token Swap | 8 85 OVR player items | 10 | ~7,400 | 740 |
| 91 OVR Token Swap | 5 91 OVR player items | 75 | ~57,000 | 760 |
| 84 OVR Token Swap | 18 84 OVR player items | 10 | ~16,100 | 1,610 |
| 83 OVR Token Swap | 22 83 OVR player items | 10 | ~18,600 | 1,860 |
Three lessons emerge from this table. The first: the 88 OVR swap crushes the entire lineup. Forty tokens for around 5,200 coins, or 130 coins each, is nearly four times more cost-effective than the 89 OVR swap even though it only requires one rating lower. The explanation lies in the end-of-cycle market: FUTTIES packs and season rewards have flooded the Transfer Market with 88-rated cards, while 89s remain locked behind player picks.
The second: the last two rows should be left aside. The 83 OVR swap requires 22 player items for 10 tokens, the 84 OVR swap requires 18 for the same reward. At 1,600 and 1,860 coins per token, and around forty searches on the Transfer Market, they're only worth it if your club is already cluttered with unsellable 83s and 84s.
The third: the 90 and 91 OVR swaps shouldn't be judged by the listed price. No sensible person buys five 91-rated cards at 11,400 coins each for 75 tokens. However, if your SBCs and pack openings have left you with 90s and 91s you won't do anything with, their real cost is zero, and they suddenly become the best lines in the table. Take stock of your club before pulling out the market's credit card.
The trap of the word "exactly"
It's the costliest mistake of the week. The label reads "Trade 5 GÉN 91 items exactly": a 92 card won't go through, nor will a 90. Unlike the usual Upgrade SBCs, there's no upward tolerance. Your best unused cards therefore only work for one of the nine challenges, and you need to sort your club by overall rating before you start, not while you're doing it. A corollary that's often forgotten: don't spend your 88s in another SBC until the 88 GÉN trade is locked in.
A second, more subtle point: these nine challenges can only be completed once, but their counter refreshes on Wednesday, August 12, the day before they disappear. Those you've already completed become available again for one last run on Wednesday evening. The window is short: build up your fodder stock in advance rather than scrambling for it in twenty-four hours.
Where to find fodder without breaking the bank
The Transfer Market isn't the only source, and it's rarely the cheapest. Several Upgrade SBCs are running in parallel and produce exactly the ratings you need:
- Upgrade 87-90 x3 — around 4,700 coins for three Rare Gold GÉN 87 to 90 items, repeatable ten times. It's the best fodder machine of the period, feeding the 87, 88, 89 and 90 trades all at once.
- Upgrade 5x 88+ Players — around 29,000 coins for five Rare Gold GÉN 88 or higher.
- Upgrade 10x 85+ Players — around 15,250 coins for ten Rare Gold GÉN 85 or higher, repeatable ten times.
- Upgrade 84+ x10 — around 14,500 coins for ten Rare Gold GÉN 84 or higher, repeatable twenty times.
One warning, though, about the Repeatable FUTTIES Supplies Upgrade. It shows a price of only around 3,100 coins, which makes it very tempting, but it requires four GÉN 87 or higher items and only returns cards capped at 88. As long as the token trades are open, it eats up exactly the resource you need. Save it for Friday, once the window has closed.
The free tokens still open alongside
The trades aren't the only source of tokens this week. Several sets of objectives hand them out without costing a single coin:
- FUTTIES Token Collector #3 — 40 tokens for four challenges, plus SP.
- Third Time's the Charm — five out of six challenges to complete for packs, an Evolution and FUTTIES tokens. Its Third Time's the Charm - Live variant adds coins, tokens and Peter Crouch FUTTIES Hero.
- The current player objectives — Can Uzun FUTTIES, Lennart Karl FUTTIES and Estêvão National Pride — each give the card, FUTTIES tokens and SP.
Added to the 300 tokens from the trades, these objectives are enough to saturate a full week's worth of spending in the FUTTIES store. That's the whole point: by the end of the campaign, the limiting factor is no longer how many tokens you can earn, but how many you can spend.
Three token stores, only one capped
FC 26 runs three separate stores at the same time, and they don't all follow the same rules. The Football Festival store (13 items) and the Champions store (21 items) impose no weekly limit: you can empty your balance into them all at once. The FUTTIES store (21 items), on the other hand, is capped at 1,000 tokens of spending per week.
This cap dictates the entire schedule for the ten days that remain. The store's three FUTTIES 97 Icons — Garrincha, Laurent Blanc and Gianluca Zambrotta — are listed at 2,000 tokens each. So it's impossible to pull one out in a single week: you'll need to go through two weekly resets, and there aren't many left before the campaign ends. If Garrincha is your target, the first half of the bill needs to be paid this week, not the next one.

The rest of the FUTTIES catalog, in descending order of price:
- 1,000 tokens: an Icon Encore 94+ pick (1 of 4), untradeable, and the The Perfect 10 Evolution.
- 500 tokens: the Touchline Titan Evolution, and an untradeable pack combining two 88+ player picks and twenty rare Gold GEN 87 or higher.
- 350 tokens: two packs, including one tradeable one with an 87+ pick, an 88+ pick and twenty-five rare Gold 85+. It's the best ratio of tokens spent to resale value in the entire store.
- 200 tokens: Alexander Sørloth FUTTIES 97, or twenty-five untradeable rare Gold 85+.
- 100 tokens: Manuel Ugarte and Nicolas Tagliafico at 96, or twenty tradeable rare Gold 84+.
- 25 tokens: an untradeable rare Gold 86+ player pick (1 of 4).
A note on terminology: EA has not provided a stable French label for the end-of-campaign Evolutions. The Perfect 10 and Touchline Titan appear in English in the databases that mirror the game's text strings, so we're leaving them as they are rather than offering an in-house translation.
The closed loop almost nobody is using
The other two stores are largely overlooked, and that's a mistake. Football Festival tokens haven't been earnable since the switch to FUTTIES, but their store is still open. If you've kept some, seasonal pack No. 3 at 500 tokens — three 88+ picks, five 87+ picks, four 85+ picks and twenty-five rare Gold 84+, all tradeable — is by far the best way to convert them. On the Champions side, pack No. 1 at 400 tokens yields sixty rare Gold GEN 84 or higher, including twenty guaranteed 85+ and twenty guaranteed 86+.
The logic comes down to a closed loop: your Football Festival and Champions tokens, which will be worthless once the stores close, turn into fodder; that fodder feeds the nine SBCs on August 13; those SBCs produce FUTTIES tokens, the only currency that still grants access to 97-rated Icons and the premium Evolutions. Going straight from a Champions balance to a pack of untradeable players breaks that loop and leaves half the value on the table.
The order of operations between now and Thursday
- Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11: club inventory, sorted by overall rating, setting aside the 88-to-91 cards you already own. Emptying Football Festival and Champions balances into tradeable fodder packs.
- Wednesday, August 12: completing the 88, 87, 86 and then 89 GEN SBCs in that order, and repeating the ones already done earlier in the week once the counter refreshes.
- Thursday, August 13: wrapping up the 90 and 91 GEN SBCs using only club duplicates, skipping the 83s and 84s unless you have dormant stock, and spending the week's balance before the reset.

The real question of this final stretch isn't "which player to buy" but "what to do with my club". A stockpile of dormant 88 cards is now worth more than one more untradeable 97 card sitting on the bench: the former convert into tokens at 130 credits apiece, the latter converts into nothing. August 13 is the last date this trade-off exists. And if you're torn over your final target, go with the constraint rather than the desire: with a cap of 1,000 tokens per week and a campaign ending around August 21, there is mathematically only room left for a 2,000-token Icon, or for two Evolutions and a few packs. Not both.

Key takeaways
- The 88 GEN swap crushes everything else: 130 credits per token versus 1,860 for the 83 GEN, it's pure one-shot value.
- The word "exactly" isn't a joke — a 92-rated card won't fit into the 91 swap, so sort your club before you start.
- The 90 and 91 swaps are only worth judging by price if you're buying for them; if you already have duplicates sitting around, it's free tokens.
- The 87-90 x3 Upgrade Pack at 4,700 credits for three Rare cards is your best friend for feeding four swaps at once.
- The FUTTIES store caps out at 1,000 tokens per week — if Garrincha is tempting you, pay half now and the rest next week.
