Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. joins Game Pass on September 10

SEGA didn't let Xbox break the news. It's in Producer Letter #19, published on Friday, August 28 during gamescom, that Seiji Aoki, producer of the Legacy Virtua Fighter Project, drops the date: Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage joins Game Pass on September 10. No Xbox Wire post accompanies the announcement.

The letter stays sparse. Aoki writes that the game will be available on Game Pass starting September 10, without ever specifying which tier is concerned. He adds that the Xbox PC port is progressing and will offer the same content and features as the other versions, but he gives no date for it. Nothing indicates it will release on the same day.

Context matters here. Xbox Wire noted back in late October 2025, at the Series X|S launch, that the series had been absent from the brand for nearly twenty years. The game still sells for €19.99 on Steam as well as on the Xbox Store. For a niche fighting game, the subscription is precisely what was missing: rollback netcode and cross-play mean nothing if nobody fills the queue.
