Minecraft on Switch 2: the release date has landed!

It's official: Mojang has pinned the date on the calendar. Minecraft for Switch 2 will land on October 27, directly on Nintendo's console. No vague window, no fuzzy "this fall" - a firm date, a little less than three months after the announcement.

On the wallet side, no collector's or deluxe edition has been mentioned for now: Mojang is only talking about the base game and, above all, one point that's going to interest quite a few people.

If you already own Minecraft on Switch, a digital upgrade path will be offered to move to the Switch 2 version. The problem: no concrete details on the price or conditions have leaked out. Mojang promises to say more "soon". So we're waiting for the follow-up before passing judgment on the value for money of this upgrade.
