Pragmata: A Demo That Reveals Original and Fluid Gameplay
In brief
Pragmata reveals its innovative gameplay through a free demo on Steam: a clever blend of third-person shooting and fluid hacking, where the player controls Hugh alongside his android Diana in a frigid lunar station. Capcom's title stands out for its surprising accessibility and smart handling of multitasking, promising an addictive experience upon its release scheduled for April 24, 2026.
Pragmata, Capcom's new title, comes out of the shadows with a free demo on Steam, but won't be available until April 24, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. The roughly twenty-minute gameplay demo features Hugh, a spacesuit-clad astronaut, accompanied by his android friend Diana, in a freezing lunar research station.
The gameplay is very clever in the way it plays on multitasking: Diana can hack systems and enemies with simple, fluid mini-games, for example by aligning icons to lock doors and elevators. In combat, simply targeting an enemy triggers hack mode (holding or pressing a button), which turns the HUD into an interactive grid. Outside of Diana's hacks, Hugh's weapons deal only minor damage; once weakened, the enemy forces you to target its weak points to shoot it down. Accumulated hacks build up an Overdrive Protocol gauge, an ultimate, overwhelming attack that stuns and inflicts immense pain on enemies.

First impressions are unanimous: the learning curve is surprisingly gentle (Master Yoda, get out of this body!), even with multiple enemies present. Hacking feels satisfying with a controller, fluid, responsive, and blends perfectly with third-person shooting. Hugh jumps and floats thanks to his suit, and dodges to evade attacks while hacking. The varied weapons, the Grip Gun (pistol), Shockwave Gun (shotgun) or Charge Piercer (railgun), offer limited ammunition, encouraging replays to unlock hacks and weapons.
The graphics and sci-fi setting are captivating, get ready for an addictive shooter-puzzle that surprises above all with its accessibility!
