Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet - Naughty Dog confirms a key milestone has been completed

Two years after the announcement of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Naughty Dog has just reached a decisive milestone. Motion capture filming for the cutscenes is complete. In other words: the game is really moving forward, even though you still haven't seen anything on screen since the reveal at The Game Awards 2024.

The studio confirmed this on its social media with a photo of Tati Gabrielle, the actress who plays the heroine Jordan A. Mun. In it, she strikes the same pose as on the artwork distributed to Naughty Dog employees: standing, prop weapon raised near her face. A nod that smells like the character's signature pose. The post opens with "See you, space cowboy," a direct reference to Cowboy Bebop, already mentioned among the game's inspirations. Naughty Dog concludes soberly:

This announcement matters more than it seems. Intergalactic is the studio's first new IP in over ten years, following a full decade spent on Uncharted and The Last of Us. Wrapping up motion capture means the game's narrative is taking concrete shape, a phase generally followed by months of post-production before we can finally see gameplay.

Naughty Dog is replicating here the drip-feed communication strategy already used for Marvel's Wolverine: little content, a lot of silence, and growing anticipation. Fans are now hoping for a real reveal window during an upcoming State of Play, though there's no official confirmation for now.
