Taurus Beast of Reincarnation: combat guide
In brief
Taurus is a taurine malefactor you face twice in Chapter 4 of Beast of Reincarnation: first at level 26, then at level 29 in its lair surrounded by Golems. Its attack arsenal recalls previous enemies, but the corruption in the second phase drastically speeds up the fight.
Taurus is a bull-like malefact, and an opponent who shouldn't put up too much resistance at this stage of the adventure. Its attack pattern is reminiscent of enemies already encountered, and this time you face it (almost) solo, unlike Nue Malefact in chapter 3. Here's how to bring it down.
Warning: this article contains spoilers for chapter 4.
How the fight unfolds
As with Rangifer and Lacerta, the fight unfolds in two stages. You encounter Taurus at the start of chapter 4, when it is level 26, before it flees to its lair. You then find it again at level 29, for a fight with two phases, each with its own health bar.

Its moveset changes little from one encounter to the other. It deploys a few new moves during the second fight, but above all, it is then backed up by annoying Golems. Nothing insurmountable, though, compared to Nue Malefact and the Purifier defeated in chapter 3: with the tips below, you're ready!
Tips before the fight
- Taurus is weak to Acid: equip Koo with the Skill Amber Corrosive Fang (found during chapter 4) and Acid Vials to take advantage of this.
- During the first encounter, grapple up to the bridge located above Taurus and launch a plunging attack: you deal it huge damage right from the start.
- Taurus spends a lot of time galloping, which complicates melee combat. Remember your Zangetsu bow and your crossbow with elemental arrows to hit it from a distance.

Its attack pattern
- Projectile bombs: Taurus fires a volley of seed bombs from its tail. Parry them or get out of their trajectory.
- Piercing branches: branches burrow under the ground, glow red, then spring up spikes once close by. Run or dodge out of their range.
- Horn strikes: a combo — usually two sweeps (sometimes three) from side to side. Parry it to restore your FP, just like its projectiles.
- Leap: it rears up its body and lunges at you, making horns burst from the ground. The parry is hard to time: be ready to dodge or flee if you can't parry.
- Horned charge: it summons a horn on its head and charges straight at you. Dodge to the side of the boss as it approaches.
- Golems: the second fight starts with three decrepit Golems alongside Taurus — make sure you don't get caught off guard. Tip: a Bind Bloom Art temporarily stuns the boss and the minions; focus on the Golems in melee then. By hitting them quickly with Blade Arts, you trigger a finishing blow that eliminates them instantly while protecting you. Once the Golems are cleared out, the fight becomes much more manageable.
- Corruption: in the second phase of the final encounter, Taurus becomes infused with corruption and glows pink. Its attacks speed up noticeably: its horn combo becomes much faster and longer, with up to four or five alternating sweeps. Take the time to adapt, but parrying these strengthened strikes recharges your FP quickly.

Taurus's rewards
- Level 26 Taurus drops the Taurean Memories, which unlock the Nushi Skill: Charging Botan.
- Level 29 Taurus drops the Bloom Art Botan: Chase as well as the Blade Art: Botan.
Good luck defeating Taurus in Beast of Reincarnation!
