Take a photo of a neon koi fish lantern in Disney Dreamlight Valley: mission guide

The Pop Town Star Path is not short on photo missions, and some of them are pretty tricky: you first have to get your hands on a specific item, without the slightest hint. That's exactly the case with the mission "Take a photo of a neon koi fish lantern". Here's how to complete it without pulling your hair out.

Where to get the neon koi fish lantern

The neon koi fish lantern is an exclusive reward from the Pop Town Star Path: it's impossible to get outside the event. So you'll need to accumulate Tokens by completing Star Path missions - both main missions and recurring ones.

The item is on page 6 of the event, priced at 75 Tokens. To access it, you must first get through the five previous pages: each new page unlocks after buying two or three items from the current page (depending on how many items it offers). So count on about ten purchases before reaching page 6.

Once that page is open, spot the neon koi fish lantern in the top right corner of the first row, right next to the San Fransokyo Food Stall item. There's only one neon koi fish lantern in the entire event: it's this exact item you need to complete the mission.

How to complete the mission

The mission ends as soon as you take a photo with a neon koi fish lantern in frame. After spending your 75 Tokens, place the lantern anywhere in the Valley, equip your Phone from the royal tools wheel, then take any photo with the item visible on screen.

As often happens, these photo quests can be a bit finicky: if your shot isn't validated, try again from a different angle or in a different mode. There's no need to save your photos for this mission - so don't hesitate to snap away from several positions until it works.

Good to know

Once the lantern is unlocked, you can buy more at Scrooge McDuck's shop using Star Coins. Placing several in the Valley makes taking the shot much easier.

Reward and continuing the event

This mission rewards you with 30 Tokens to spend in the event. That's not much compared to the price of the lantern, but the task is very simple once you have the item in hand: so it's still worth doing.

To replenish your Tokens after this costly purchase, move on to other Pop Town Star Path missions - for example taking a photo of the neon CD player, talking to the president of the Sugar Rush, or gathering wood and selling green vegetables.
