Struck by Lightning DDV: complete guide to Zeus's quest and armbands

The Struck by Lightning quest is part of the Greek Realm progression line in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and honestly, it's one of the more enjoyable ones in the bunch. Zeus isn't the easiest to please, and you'll have to juggle between a visual puzzle, crafting, and... questionable humor. This guide covers all the steps in order, without detours, so you don't have to wander around the valley looking for who tells the best jokes.

The Struck by Lightning quest

Struck by Lightning starts right after Speedrun Crash Course. If you haven't started that one yet, go back and finish it first. Your first task is to solve the puzzle of Zeus's emblem: a puzzle made of concentric circles that you need to rotate to reform a complete image. Nothing too tricky once you know the combination, but going in blind, it can quickly become frustrating. Follow these instructions to the letter:

• Activate lever (1) once.
• Activate lever (2) twice.
• Activate lever (3) three times.

The goal is to match the image with the smallest circle, the one that stays fixed in the center. Once this puzzle is solved, a mechanism is revealed, containing a mold that lets you create armbands. Keep this item safe, as it's essential for what comes next.

Gathering the required materials

To craft the armbands Zeus is asking for, you'll need to get your hands on several resources scattered throughout the realm. Nothing insurmountable, but expect a few back-and-forth trips if you don't already have a stockpile on hand:

• Hephaestus's Coal x6
• Orichalcum Ore x10
• Greek Marble Fragment x10
• And of course the Stone Armband Mold obtained in the previous step

Once you have these materials in hand, head to the crafting station to craft the golden armbands. Note that orichalcum ore and Hephaestus's coal generally require some targeted mining in the Greek areas, so don't hesitate to make a full tour of the realm before starting crafting to avoid unnecessary back-and-forth trips.

Making Zeus laugh

Armbands in hand, head to Zeus. Except the god of thunder won't settle for just a gift: he also wants a good laugh. Phil then invites you to tell a joke to cheer him up. Go back to the valley and go collect the best jokes from Scrooge McDuck, Goofy, and Merlin. Each has their own style, and you apparently need to collect them all before going back to Zeus to try your luck.

Head to the temple

To save time, use the winged boots obtained during the previous quest right away: they teleport you almost instantly to the temple area, sparing you a not-exactly-thrilling trek on foot. Once inside, equip the golden armbands and break the purple rocks with your pickaxe, then unlock the doors blocking further access.

Inside the temple, the setting matches the story: everything is in ruins. The portrait of the gods has been disrupted by the displacement of several mosaic pieces, and you'll need to find the missing pieces to restore the artwork. Once this task is complete, talk to Phil to move directly on to the next quest, A Real Divine Mess, which continues the Greek Realm's narrative arc.
