Disney Dreamlight Valley parsnip seeds: unlocking Winnie

In brief

Parsnip seeds are essential to unlock Winnie the Pooh in the Honeyglow Woods expansion, but they're locked behind a closed stand. You need to retrieve the Shopping List on the ground, use it to open the stand, then work through three quest chapters involving resource farming and progressive interactions with the bear.

In the Honeyglow Woods expansion of Disney Dreamlight Valley, parsnip seeds are locked behind a closed stall in Lumiel's Woods. And without them, there's no way to progress Winnie the Pooh's quest chain. Three chapters to get through, several resources to farm, but once you've figured out the sequence, the mechanic stays linear from start to finish.

Opening the stall and buying parsnip seeds

The stall in Lumiel's Woods is located in the upper corner of the Snoozing Acres. Closed by default, as is often the case with this kind of mechanic in the game. To open it, spot the shiny piece of paper lying on the ground right next to it: that's the Shopping List. Pick it up (it often triggers a memory along the way), then drop it directly on the stall.

The stall activates. Buy your parsnip seeds, plant them, wait for harvest. They grow in just a few minutes, nothing too long. But watch out: a progression bug, still being reported on PS5 at the time this guide was updated, can completely lock the stall. If the Shopping List doesn't appear or the stall stays greyed out no matter what you try, know that you're clearly not the only one dealing with this.

I got stuck by a really annoying bug in the new Winnie the Pooh DLC: my stall in the Honeyglow area is completely locked and I can't buy parsnip seeds. - u/anonymous, r/DreamlightValley

If you're in this situation, going in and out of the area (leaving then reloading the Valley) or reinstalling the latest patch sometimes fixes the issue. Otherwise, often the only option is to wait for Gameloft's next fix, as they've already had this kind of lock-up on other expansions in the past.

Chapter 1 - All You Need Is Honey: crafting the elixir

Once the parsnips are harvested, you need to gather four other ingredients to prepare a potion for your watering can. The goal: water a misty lantern to clear the fog and unlock Winnie's daydream corner.

  • Chestnut - harvested directly from trees in Lumiel's Woods
  • Parsnip - yours, planted and harvested from the stall
  • Tree Resin - dug up with a shovel in the woods
  • Fog Dust - obtained by interacting with the fog barrier near the lantern where you talk to Winnie
  • Golden Honey - collected at the bee house every 10 minutes; the more flowers you've planted around it, the faster the production

Mix all of that to get the potion. Water the lantern. The fog clears, and the daydream corner finally appears. Nothing too tricky, but expect a good chunk of farming if your bee house isn't well-equipped with flowers yet.

Chapter 2 - Of Thistles, Fog and Light: repairing the Daydream Corner

Unlocking the daydream corner isn't enough, now you have to repair it. Another series of resources to gather, still in Lumiel's Woods:

  • Golden Honey - bee house (same source as before)
  • Tree Resin - with a shovel, on the ground in the woods
  • Driftwood - fished from the ripples in Lumiel's Woods (not just anywhere in the water, only where it ripples)
  • Oak Leaves - picked up off the ground under the trees
  • Soft Limestone - mined from rock nodes in the woods

Bring everything back to the daydream corner to restore it. You'll get a peaceful moment with Winnie, a nice little narrative reward. That's what closes out this stage and triggers what comes next.

Chapter 3 - One Very Satisfied Bear: the home stretch

This is the final chapter, and honestly, it's much lighter than the first two. No resource list to farm, phew, more a string of actions to carry out with Winnie.

First, equip yellow rain boots and go splash around in the puddles with him. Then, approach the bear's house and pick up the doorbell lying on the ground. Water the lantern in front of the door to clear the fog, install the doorbell, and go inside his house.

Last step: help Winnie tidy up and put his home back in order. It's short, almost relaxing after all the farming in the previous chapters. And that's what officially unlocks Winnie the Pooh as a resident of your Valley.

Have you encountered the locked stand bug in Honeyglow Woods?

Frequently asked questions

Where exactly is the Lumiel woods stand located?
The stand is located in the upper corner of the Snorkling Acres. Look for the Shopping List (shiny paper) on the ground right next to it to activate it.
How long does it take for parsnip seeds to grow after planting?
Parsnips grow within a few minutes once planted at the activated stand. It's a quick harvest compared to other resources in the game.
What should you do if the stand remains closed even after finding the Shopping List?
A known bug on PS5 can lock the stand. Try restarting the game or your console. If the issue persists, make sure you placed the List directly on the stand itself.
Does Chapter 3 really require less farming than the previous chapters?
Yes, Chapter 3 is deliberately lighter: no long list of resources to farm, just a series of actions to complete with Winnie (rain boots, puddles, doorbell, tidying the house).
What is the golden honey used for in Winnie's quest?
Golden honey is one of the five ingredients in Chapter 1 to create the watering can elixir. It comes from the Bee House and regenerates every 10 minutes; the more flowers you plant there, the faster the production.

Key takeaways

  • Find the shining Shopping List on the ground next to the stand to open it and buy the parsnip seeds.
  • Chapter 1 requires five ingredients (parsnip, chestnut, resin, mist dust, honey) to create a potion that waters the misty lantern.
  • Chapter 2 requires repairing the daydream corner with six resources collected in the woods (honey, resin, driftwood, oak leaves, limestone).
  • Chapter 3 is lighter: put on rain boots, splash in puddles, set up the doorbell, and organize Winnie's house.
  • A reported bug on PS5 can completely lock the stand; if the List doesn't appear, you're not alone, and a restart may help.
