S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: patch 2.0.5 announces "over 200 fixes" and lists 164 — the only 8 lines that actually add something

Follow us on

In brief

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 patch 2.0.5 claims "over 200 fixes" but only publishes 164, including one duplicate. Just 8 lines actually add content: a new artifact, anti-radiation items at Suslov's, a snork lair, and improvements to the Moving in the shadows mission.

GSC Game World released patch 2.0.5 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 19:12 UTC, i.e. 9:12 p.m. in Paris. This is our conversion: the Steam announcement shows no time zone.

The title promises "Over 200 Fixes." The body of the message lists 164 bullet points, one of which is strictly identical to another. And only eight start with "Added": those are the ones that alter an ongoing playthrough. Warning: GSC publishes no patch notes in French. The names cited below therefore have no official label in your client. We leave them in English and gloss them.

164 lines published, 163 distinct

We counted the bullet points in the body of the announcement. Breakdown by action verb:

VerbLinesWhat it covers
"Fixed" / "Resolved"133Pure fixes
"Added"8The only content actually added
"Removed"6Closed shortcuts
"Adjusted"4NPC hearing, vegetation
"Changed"3Including a replaced puzzle
"Improved"3Performance, enemies
"Increased"3Ranges and durability
Other4"Balance tweak," art passes
Total164including 163 distinct entries

The duplicate is blatant: "Fixed an issue when the flashlight was staying enabled if disabling animation was interrupted in an EMP field." appears twice, word for word, two bullet points apart.

The gap between "over 200" and 164 isn't necessarily misleading: a single bullet point can cover several internal fixes, as in "Level Art and Level Design improvements for multiple locations…" But the studio states this nowhere, and the announced total cannot be verified in the published text. For comparison, patch 2.0.4 on Thursday, August 28, 2026 had 18 bullet points and put forward no figure at all.

The eight lines that actually add something

Official line (verbatim)What it means
"Added an artifact for the Lightbulbs anomaly."A sterile anomaly becomes an artifact source
"Added anti-rad items to trader Suslov."One more trader now sells anti-radiation items
"Added snorks lair at the CNPP location."A snork lair near the power plant
"Added more autosaves during the Moving in the shadows mission."More frequent autosaves
"Added loot around the Sircaa during the Moving in the shadows mission."Loot placed around the complex
"Added Shelter to the SIRCAA location after the end of Moving in the shadows."An emission shelter once the mission is finished
"Added quest markers during objective \"Unlock the hermetic door\"…" (The price of a miracle)Markers between the two switches
"Added missing tracks to the CNPP Freedom playlist."Music tracks restored at the hub

Three of these eight lines concern the same mission. Moving in the shadows is by far the most cited in the patch, with 11 of the 164 bullet points, ahead of The price of a miracle (8), The destructive power of the mind and In memory of the fallen (7 each). The addition of automatic saves addresses the issue we documented on Saturday, August 29, 2026. On the reliability of the document: the notes write "Sircaa" then "SIRCAA", "Cost of Hope" then "Cost of the Hope".

The first artifact is new. The anomaly GSC refers to as Lightbulbs used to yield no item; it now joins the list of profitable anomalies. The studio gives neither the artifact's name, nor its effects, nor its drop rate: the line is limited to these eight words.

A second artifact, meanwhile, wasn't new but was inaccessible. Two separate bullet points address it: "Fixed the route leading to the Weird Bolt artifact." and "Fixed the issue with the missing Weird bolt artifact in the Vortex archanomaly." The path was broken and the item could be missing from the archi-anomaly: those who thought they were being blocked by their reading of the terrain were actually blocked by a bug.

Suslov, the technicians, Honta: what's changing on the coupon side

Three lines touch on the economy, and none of them include figures.

  • "Added anti-rad items to trader Suslov." The trader known as Suslov now sells anti-radiation items. Another bullet point fixes his placement at the power plant: "Fixed an issue that caused the misplacement of Suslov at CNPP."
  • "Balance tweak of the prices for some technicians around the map." The prices of certain technicians have been revised. Neither which ones, nor in which direction, nor by how much.
  • "Fixed an issue when the player was able to get a reward from Honta only once per certain mutant parts." Reselling certain mutant parts to the character named Honta was capped at once per type. That cap was a bug, not an economic rule.

A vocabulary reminder, this one official: the currency is called coupons in French, as confirmed by the Steam achievements in French ("Coupons à brûler").

Weather, radios and zombies: what changes in an ongoing playthrough

NPC hearing. "Adjusted hearing of the NPCs during foggy, rainy, and thundery weather conditions." The verb is adjusted, not reduced: GSC doesn't say in which direction. Treating rain as a stealth tool is a reasonable reading of the line, not something confirmed by the publisher.

Faraday anomalies. "Increased the radio call radius for the Faraday anomalies." and "Fixed delay of the first radio call for the Faraday anomaly." The radio signal that gives them away now carries further and the first call no longer takes as long: you'll hear them before you walk into them.

Underground zombies. "Improved enemy identification for zombies in underground areas." They spot you better underground; with the snork den added to the power plant, the surroundings get more crowded.

Six shortcuts closed. No more way to reach the lower levels of the Cintrifuge without the elevator, nor to skip the water anomaly during Moving in the shadows.

Two clarifications to avoid confusion. Reputation with Duty (which English notes call Duty) suffered two bugs during In memory of the fallen: it could be degraded by shooting the faction's NPCs, and it could get stuck on "neutral". Both are fixed. And "Changed the puzzle with the codelock inside the Spatial Bubble because of its uncertainty" targets a puzzle entirely separate from the apartment code in Shadows of the Past that we covered on Tuesday, September 1, 2026: different location, different lock.

One last line is hidden behind a "spoiler" tag: it increases a weapon's durability during an end-of-playthrough confrontation. If you haven't finished Cost of Hope, don't expand this block.

None of these names have a French version

The limitation of this article comes from the studio. The official website states 16 languages, French included, and stalker2.com/fr is indeed in French: title "Site officiel", description that writes "Tchornobyl". But the patch notes section exists in only one copy: all 16 language paths, including English and Ukrainian, redirect to the same single address through an immediate redirect. It's not French that's being excluded, it's the entire section that is monolingual.

As a result: Lightbulbs, Weird Bolt, Faraday, Suslov, Honta and all the mission titles mentioned here have no published French label. We are not offering a translation for them: your client would display something else.

Where the French version is confirmed, we use it. The list of Steam achievements in French, now up to 76 entries with Cost of Hope, is in-game text, not an auto-translated store page. It gives coupons, technicien, artefact, anomalie tourbillon, le Devoir and, new compared to our August guides, la Liberté (achievement "L'heure de la Liberté"). None of the names from patch 2.0.5 appear in it.

In practice

  1. Artefact hunting: add the Lightbulbs anomalies to your route, and try the Weird Bolt again.
  2. Anti-radiation drugs: Suslov sells them, and he's finally in the right spot at the power plant.
  3. Save prior to August 20, 2026: "Fixed the issue with empty stashes with attachments if they were looted on saves made before the Cost of Hope release" concerns you directly.
  4. Reselling mutant parts: the cap at Honta's has been lifted.
  5. Modded playthrough: the announcement ends with the warning GSC has been repeating since 2.0: "If you have performance or stability issues following the release of a new update, we recommend you to disable your mods." Still no French version.

What remains is the ratio, which sums up the update: eight lines of additions for 133 fixes. 2.0.5 isn't a content patch, it's a reliability pass on Cost of Hope, with a bonus artefact.

Do you think GSC really has 200+ fixes or does it seem padded?

Frequently asked questions

Why does GSC announce 200+ fixes if the patch only contains 164?
A single entry can cover multiple internal fixes, but the studio doesn't specify this anywhere and refuses to clarify the count. It's fuzzy communication, not a clear mathematical error.
What actually changes in my ongoing playthrough?
Mainly Moving in the shadows: more frequent autosaves, added loot, shelter unlocked after the mission. Faraday anomalies become easier to spot, underground zombies see you better, and several shortcuts are closed off.
What exactly is the new Lightbulbs artifact?
GSC doesn't say: just that it exists now. Neither its French name, nor its effects, nor its spawn rate. There's some mystery there, whether intentional or not.
Does Suslov really sell anti-radiation gear now?
Yes, and his location at the power plant was also corrected. If you found him elsewhere before, that was a bug.
Why is there a duplicate in the list?
"Fixed an issue when the flashlight was staying enabled if disabling animation was interrupted in an EMP field" appears twice, word for word. Either it's a clumsy copy-paste, or multiple internal systems were causing it. No clarification from the studio.

Key takeaways

  • 164 fixes published instead of the promised "200+", with an exact duplicate to pad the count
  • Only 8 genuine additions: everything else is pure fixes, shortcut closures, or minor tweaks
  • Moving in the shadows receives most improvements with 11 of the 164 entries
  • The Lightbulbs anomaly finally becomes worthwhile by delivering an artifact, and the Weird Bolt becomes accessible again
  • GSC doesn't translate its patches into French: all location names, NPCs, and missions remain in English
