Fortnite: Kombat Klassic Pack leaves the shop on September 12 — 3,600 V-Bucks instead of 9,100

The Fortnite Item Shop for Friday, September 11, 2026 displays a section titled "Mortal Kombat." This isn't a datamine report: the name appears exactly as such in the data that Epic Games itself serves in French, under the internal identifier MortalKombat1, with a shop timestamp dated September 10, 2026 at 11:38 PM UTC.

What it contains: the Kombat Klassic Pack, fifteen items built around Scorpion, Kitana, and Raiden, listed at 3,600 V-Bucks instead of 9,100. And a shop exit scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, with a timing subtlety that almost no one checks.

First, where these figures come from

A word on the chain of sources, unusually convoluted here. The site www.fortnite.com returns 403 from our newsroom, filtered by Cloudflare, and Epic's shop catalog requires authentication: it returns 401. Reading prices directly from the publisher is impossible.

What we ourselves read from Epic is its French-language content API. It establishes three things, and only three: the section does indeed exist in the French shop; its displayed name is "Mortal Kombat," left in English; it is listed for September 10 and 11, 2026.

Everything else — prices, entry and exit dates, French item labels — comes from a community mirror of the catalog, recorded on September 11, 2026. This mirror has long reflected the exact labels from the French client, but it does not carry Epic's endorsement. Double-check the amounts on the shop screen before paying.

One detail from Epic's data deserves mention, because it speaks volumes: the section received no special dressing. It uses the current season's generic background and, unlike "System Hacked" or the "Reintroductions," it carries no subtitle. This is a restocking, not a launch operation.

The fifteen items, and the individual pricing breakdown

The pack brings together three outfits, three pickaxes, three back bling accessories, and six emotes, all of Gaming Legends Series rarity and tied to the Kombat Klassic set.

Adding up the separate offers comes to exactly 9,100 V-Bucks, matching the crossed-out price. This is our own calculation, not data from Epic, but it matches the recorded figures down to the V-Buck.

Two lines in the table are worth pausing on. Scorpion's pickaxe and back bling are sold as a single bundle for 800 V-bucks; same for Kitana's. Raiden, however, is split: his pickaxe costs 800 V-bucks, while his Raiden's Amulet is sold separately for 400. This is the only irregularity in the pricing, and it changes the value calculation further below.

The French banner for the bundle announces, word for word, "5500 V-bucks off." — no space in the number, that's the client's wording. Compared to the separate total, this represents a 60% saving. This percentage is our conversion: neither Epic nor the listing displays it.

The real deadline isn't Saturday evening

The listing dates the shop entry to September 6, 2026 at 0:00 UTC and the exit to September 12, 2026 at 23:59:59 UTC. A seven-day window, of which only the last two remain.

The conversion holds a surprise. The shop rotates at midnight UTC, and Paris runs on UTC+2 in September: the section therefore disappears around 2 a.m., during the night of Saturday September 12 to Sunday September 13, 2026, Paris time. You have the whole Saturday evening, not just until midnight. This is our conversion, not data from the publisher — and Epic's API publishes no end date for this section: September 12 comes from the mirror, and the mirror alone.

Two mentions in the listing are worth knowing before clicking: the offer is marked as giftable to a friend, and as non-refundable. These are fields from the mirror, not communication from Epic.

A return, and a set that remains incomplete

First point for those hesitating: there is nothing new in it. The fifteen items are dated March 27, 2025 and all carry the mention "Available since: Chapter 6 - Season 2". If you were playing during that period, the shop will likely display them to you as already owned.

Second point, more useful: the Kombat Klassik set counts 32 items in the French catalog, and the pack offers only fifteen of them. Notably missing are the Sub-Zero (MK3) outfit and all its gear — Sub-Zero's Combat Axes, Sub-Zero's Ice Axes, the Sub-Zero's Ice Blast wrap, the Spinality back bling —, the Kombat Glacier and Klassik Kombat Glacier gliders, the Ice Kombat emoticon, and the Sub-Zero's Challenge and Stay Cool sprays.

These items are dated February 21, 2025, a month before the other three characters: they form a distinct first wave. And the "Sub-Zero" chain appears nowhere in the September 11, 2026 listing.

The same fate applies to the trio's three weapon wraps — Scorpion's Fiery Aura, Kitana's Fan Flurry and Raiden's Lightning —, which do indeed belong to the set but are neither in the pack nor offered individually.

Styles, labels, and one item not to confuse

The three outfits don't offer the same level of customization. Scorpion (MK3) has three styles in the French catalog: "Default", "No Mask" and "Spectre", the latter replacing the head with a flaming skull. Kitana (MK3) is limited to a mask setting, "Yes" or "No". Raiden (MK3) has no alternate style: what you see is what you get.

On the vocabulary side, one emote stubbornly refuses French: FLAWLESS VICTORY stays in English and in capital letters in the client, and its French description simply reads "Vous avez gagné !" ("You won!"). The other five are properly translated, and their internal labels tell the story of the localization work: "Toasty!" loses its exclamation point, "Test Your Might" becomes "Testez votre force", "Kitana's Fan-Nado" turns into "Tornade d'éventails", and "Scorpion's Twin Katana", singular in English, switches to plural with "Katanas de Scorpion".

Finally, a proper-noun trap. The "Scorpion Kit" has nothing to do with this pack. Epic does publish this French label in its own in-game item lexicon, recorded on September 3, 2026, alongside the "Tactical Pistol" and the "Llama Supply Drop": it's a collectible item from the current season, not a cosmetic, and it's not found in the shop. Epic's API says nothing about how it works, and we're not going to make it up.

What to remember

The pack is priced at 3,600 V-Bucks, while the three outfits alone cost 4,500. As soon as two characters interest you, the choice is already settled.

The only scenario where buying separately wins out is for a single character. Scorpion in full — outfit, harvesting tool, back bling — comes to 2,300 V-Bucks, Kitana also 2,300, and Raiden 2,700, penalized by his back bling sold separately. Any pair of complete characters therefore exceeds the pack's 3,600. These totals are our own additions based on the recorded prices.

If emotes matter to you, the math is even clearer: six emotes at 300 V-Bucks each comes to 1,800, half the pack's price on their own.

Then there's the timing. Once the section leaves the shop during the night of September 12–13, 2026, there's no telling when it will return: Epic doesn't publish any rotation schedule. If the trio tempts you, the decision has to be made now — after checking the amounts shown on screen, since we weren't able to read them directly from the publisher.
