Palworld: where to find Celesdir and how to catch it
In brief
Celesdir is a level 65 boss located in the Feybreak region, accessible starting at level 55. This high-level mount is definitely worth it if you seriously prepare for the fight with the right armor and powerful Dark Pals.
Celesdir arrives just as Palworld really starts baring its teeth. We're talking about a level 65 boss in the Feybreak region, an area added with the update of the same name, only accessible if you're around level 55 with serious gear. It's also one of the best mounts available at this stage of the game - which alone makes it worth the detour.
Where to find Celesdir on the map
Feybreak is located at the southwestern edge of the Palworld map. The region is hostile by default: there's no point trying to survive there before level 55 at minimum, and even then, with suitable gear.
You have two options for getting this Pal:
- Basic version (level 59) - a guaranteed spawn point exists in the area, far from the boss. This is the calm option if you're not ready for the fight yet.
- Boss version (level 65) - it lurks near the Crystal Tree. This is the one we recommend going for, but it demands real preparation.
Note
Celesdir always appears alone, never in a group. No risk of being overwhelmed by a pack, but also no possibility of chain-farming it in the same spot.

Location of the Celesdir boss
Preparing for the boss fight
This boss doesn't forgive improvisation. Before showing up near the Crystal Tree, make sure you have:
- Paluminium armor - essential for taking hits at this level.
- A tier 3 shield - no compromises here.
- A weapon that really hits hard - the damage needs to match the boss's level 65.
- Dark-type Pals at least level 60 - the Dark element is your best asset here.
- Ultra Spheres - that's the bare minimum to attempt a capture. Anything less and you're wasting your time.
Strategy during the fight
The key to the fight is reading the charged attacks. As soon as you spot the boss casting a powerful move, immediately recall your Pal into its sphere. Taking a charged attack head-on often means a KO or a big hole in your team.
The other crucial point: rotate your Pals. Spreading the damage across your whole team rather than letting a single monster absorb everything is what will make the difference over the course of the fight. A Pal at half health being pulled back avoids a 4v1 you can't handle.
Once the boss is sufficiently weakened, throw your Ultra Spheres. Capture isn't guaranteed on the first try, so keep a decent stock before engaging.

After the capture: what you get
Celesdir is above all an excellent mount. The saddle unlocks via level 54 technology - make sure you've researched it before ending up with a top-tier Pal you can't ride.
Celesdir also drops Hexoquartz, usually in batches of 3. It's not a resource you'd farm exclusively from them, but from level 60 onward, Hexoquartz becomes critical. Every source counts, and Celesdir is a reliable one.
