In brief

Renjishi is one of the best Fire Pals in Palworld, accessible in the late game after capturing Panthalus to lift the World Tree barrier. You'll find it in the crimson biome (Corroded Hollow) to the north, where its arena spares you from the region's toxic gas.

Added in version 1.0, Renjishi is one of the very best Fire-type Pals in Palworld. Capturing it takes patience and genuine endgame gear, but once it's on your team, it will accompany you until the very end of the adventure. Here's where to find it, how to defeat it, and how to make the most of it.

Where to find Renjishi

Renjishi lurks in the World Tree, more precisely in the crimson biome (Corroded Hollow), in the north of the area. It is an Alpha boss with its own marker on the map: impossible to miss once you're there.

Note

The depths of the biome are saturated with a toxic gas that deals continuous damage to you. The good news is that Renjishi's arena is spared from it, allowing you to fight it under normal conditions.

The prerequisite: capturing Panthalus

Before you can even hope to reach Renjishi, you need to lower the barrier that isolates the World Tree. To do this, you must capture Panthalus, a colossal Pal with over 300,000 HP. Once Panthalus has been captured, head to the World Tree base in the northeast and interact with the terminal to bring down the barrier.

Also make sure to bring Ancient Spheres, the only ones effective on the Pals in this region - their recipe unlocks at level 74 of the tech tree. Since the capture rate remains low, arrive with a good stock and a high-level character (aiming for level 80 is ideal). And if you accidentally kill Renjishi, wait about fifteen minutes: it will respawn.

How to fight it effectively

Since Renjishi is Fire-type, pit Water-type Pals against it to maximize your damage. Among the best choices: Jormuntide, Suzaku Aqua, Relaxaurus, and Azurobe. To fine-tune your team, don't hesitate to use breeding to create the perfect Pal, or the Pal Condensing Capsule to strengthen a companion with other individuals of the same species.

Partner skill and combat style

Renjishi has the partner skill Battle Scene: as long as it's on your team, all your attacks inflict Burn (non-stackable). This is devastating against Ice and Grass type Pals, which are vulnerable to fire. Most of its skills, such as Inferno and Volcanic Rain, deal area-of-effect damage: excellent against groups, but less effective against a single target due to their long casting animations.

Renjishi at the base

Outside of combat, Renjishi is an outstanding worker. Its work suitabilities are Kindling 8, Handiwork 6, Gathering 5, and Transporting 5. Its level 8 in Kindling makes it a pillar of your workshops and furnaces. Its area skills also let it effectively defend your base against Syndicate raids.

Breeding Renjishi

The community has already identified several pairs that can produce Renjishi through breeding. Try one of these pairings: Aegidron + Shadowbeak, Neptilius + Blazamut, Blazamut Ryu + Cryolinx Terra, Panthalus + Shadowbeak, Jormuntide Ignis + Xenolord, Orserk + Faleris Aqua, or Dupin + Bastigor.

Renjishi is also an excellent breeding parent for obtaining other Pals. The known combinations are: Renjishi + Quivern, + Dupin, + Quivern Botan, + Panthalus, + Hoodle, + Kikit, and + Wispaw.

In short, Renjishi combines combat power, versatility at the base, and value for breeding: an endgame investment that's well worth the effort.

Frequently asked questions

Do you really need to capture Panthalus before Renjishi?
Yes, it's mandatory. Panthalus is colossal (300,000+ HP) and capturing it lifts the World Tree barrier. Without it, you can't even access the area where Renjishi roams.
Where exactly is Renjishi located on the map?
It camps in the crimson biome (Corroded Hollow) north of the World Tree. Its marker on the map clearly points it out — it's an Alpha boss, impossible to miss once you're there.
What level should you aim for to capture it without too much trouble?
Aim for at least level 80 for your character. The capture rate remains low even with Ancient Spheres, so come with a good stock and well-prepared Pals.
If I accidentally kill it, is it gone for good?
No, don't worry. Wait about fifteen minutes and it will respawn at its location. You'll get a second chance.
Can you breed Renjishi without capturing it?
Yes, the community has identified several effective pairings: Aegidron + Shadowbeak, Neptilius + Blazamut, or Panthalus + Shadowbeak, among others. It's an alternative if capturing proves too much of a hassle.

Key takeaways

  • Capture Panthalus (300,000+ HP) first to gain access to the World Tree and face Renjishi.
  • Bring Water-type Pals like Jormuntide or Suzaku Aqua to exploit Fire's weakness.
  • Renjishi at level 8 Kindling makes it a workshop mainstay and an excellent base defense.
  • Use Ancient Spheres (unlocked at level 74) to maximize your capture chances with a character at level 80 minimum.
  • Its partner skill inflicts non-stacking Burn on all your attacks, devastating against Ice and Grass.
