Running a Palworld server without knowing its admin commands means exposing yourself to some uncomfortable situations - being unable to kick a toxic player, no manual save, or even an abrupt shutdown without warning. Good news: the list is short, and getting the hang of it is quick. But before typing anything in chat, you need to set up an admin password on the server side. Without that, no matter how hard you try, no command will work.

Setting up the admin password (dedicated server)

Head to the following folder on the machine hosting the server:

steamapps\common\PalServer\Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer

Open the PalworldSettings.ini file with a text editor (Notepad will do). Look for the line AdminPassword="" - use CTRL+F to speed things up. Enter your password between the quotation marks. If the line isn't there, add it manually. Save, then restart the server.

This is the password you'll need to enter in-game via /AdminPassword [yourpassword] to get admin rights. Any player on the server can do the same if they know this password - keep it to yourself if you don't want to share the privileges.

What about solo mode?

Palworld doesn't offer a native field for setting an admin password in solo mode. It's technically possible using third-party tools like PalworldOptions, which generates a WorldOption.sav file with a built-in password. You then just need to replace the existing file in:

\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames\

Back up your files before doing anything. And as with any third-party tool, you use it at your own risk.

All available admin commands

Once authenticated, open the in-game chat (the Enter key by default) and type your commands. Here's the full arsenal:

/AdminPassword [password] - Activates admin rights. Always do this first.
/Shutdown [seconds] [message] - Shuts down the server cleanly after the specified delay. The message is displayed to all connected players as a warning.
/DoExit - Shuts down the server immediately, with no delay or automatic save. Avoid this unless it's an emergency: risk of data loss.
/Broadcast [message] - Sends a message visible to all players on the server. Useful for announcing maintenance or reminding players of the rules.
/ShowPlayers - Displays the list of currently connected players along with their SteamID.
/Info - Displays general server information.
/Save - Forces a manual save of the world. Handy before a restart.
/KickPlayer [SteamID] - Kicks a player from the server. They can come back.
/BanPlayer [SteamID] - Permanently bans a player. They can no longer join.
/UnBanPlayer [SteamID] - Lifts a player's ban.
/TeleportToPlayer [SteamID] - Instantly teleports you to a targeted player.
/TeleportToMe [SteamID] - Teleports a targeted player to your position.
/ToggleSpectate - Turns spectator mode on or off. Switch views with the \ key.

For moderation: remember the SteamID

The /KickPlayer, /BanPlayer, /UnBanPlayer, /TeleportToPlayer and /TeleportToMe commands all require the targeted player's SteamID. Use /ShowPlayers to get it directly from the game - it's the basic tool to use before any moderation action.

Cheat codes? No...

Palworld doesn't offer any functional cheat commands natively. No item spawning, no God Mode, nothing. Some mods inject this type of command - spawning Pals, free flight, etc. - but that's outside the official scope, and it remains something to use with full awareness of the risks.
