Palworld 1.0 Wing Pack: how to get and use it

The Wing Pack is one of the biggest additions in Palworld 1.0. Unlike classic flying mounts, this equipment lets you fly on your own without occupying a Pal slot. The catch: unlocking it requires some serious preparation. Here's the complete guide.

Unlocking and crafting the Wing Pack

The Wing Pack appears in the Ancient Technology tree once your character reaches level 80, the current level cap in 1.0. It's a portable glider that replaces the standard glider slot: once equipped, it lets you fly freely without sacrificing a single combat or utility Pal.

It's crafted at the Ancient Workbench, with the following materials:

Requirement #1: the Ancient Workbench

You can't craft the Wing Pack without the Ancient Workbench, unlocked at level 67. It's also used to craft its fuel. Building it first requires an Ancient Furnace, since several of its components must first be refined into higher-tier materials: Soralite Ingot, AI Core, and Bio-Battery. Once built, the Ancient Workbench requires a Pal with Handiwork level 6 as well as a Pal with Medicine Production level 6 to complete its advanced recipes.

Requirement #2: unlocking the World Tree

Several of the Wing Pack's materials come from the World Tree. To access it, head to the Desert Islet and talk to the NPC: he gives you the blueprint for the Echo Flute and marks four giant whale bones on the map.

Collect the items at each location, then craft the Echo Flute at a Makeshift Workbench. Bring it back to the NPC and activate the nearby altar to trigger the fight against Panthalus. Once this boss is defeated and captured, talk to the NPC again: the World Tree finally becomes accessible.

Getting Paloxite Ingots

This is the rarest ingredient in the recipe. Essential: bring a Pal with the World Tree Rainbow passive skill. Without this passive in your active team, the deposits in the area disappear as you approach, making farming impossible.

On site, the purple crystals yield Paloxite, the trees give Mystic Wood, and defeating the Pals in the region drops World Tree Holy Water. Then combine these resources with Soralite at the Ancient Furnace to get your Paloxite Ingots.

The fuel: Wing Cells

The Wing Pack doesn't work without Wing Cells, which serve as its fuel. They also unlock at level 80 and are crafted at the Ancient Workbench with 10 Mystic Wood and 20 Crude Oil. Since the flight boost drains the reserve very quickly, craft several before heading out on an adventure.

Is the Wing Pack worth it?

Without a doubt. Its main advantage - total aerial mobility without occupying a Pal slot - radically changes exploration. You keep a full team while flying over the Sky Islands, farming around the World Tree, or crossing the Palpagos Archipelago much faster than before. Given all the work required, it's an end-game reward that's well worth the effort.
