Palworld 1.0: how to farm Ancient Technology Points

In brief

Ancient Technology Points can only be obtained by defeating bosses — each victory counts only once. Tower bosses grant 5 points at once and are your absolute priority, while field bosses give 1 point each: combine both to unlock your ancient technologies at maximum speed.

The Ancient Technology Points are the special currency that unlocks Ancient Technologies, the rarest items and structures in the tech tree. Unlike standard Technology Points, earned by leveling up, these are gained almost exclusively by defeating bosses.

A grind that depends on your power

There's no automated farming here: each point can only be obtained once per boss, and your pace depends entirely on how strong your team is. The bosses aren't extremely difficult, but they hit hard and can knock you out in a matter of seconds.

Important note

Those found in dungeons don't grant any points.

Prioritize tower bosses (5 points each)

The fastest method is to target the tower bosses, which grant 5 points each. The first one is found in the Rayne Syndicate Tower: Zoe and Grizzbolt, level 10, a good benchmark for the power level you should aim for.

Before the fight, craft a Crossbow, level up a good combat Pal, and equip upgraded armor. Above all, keep type matchups in mind: since Zoe and Grizzbolt are Electric type, bring a Ground type Pal, which has the advantage against them. Winning will reward you with plenty of loot, your 5 Ancient Technology Points, and a clue toward the next tower.

Chain up field bosses (1 point each)

Any enemy displaying a portrait on the map is a world boss. The first victory against each one grants 1 point. They are generally easier and less resilient than tower bosses.

Some, like Pengking in the northwest of the starting area, are reached via a portal leading to a dungeon; others, like level 11 Chillet, simply roam the wild. These bosses can also be captured and added to your team - often an excellent investment.

The right strategy

Rush to the tower bosses as soon as your team is ready (5 points in one go), and use the trip to the next tower to clear as many field bosses as possible. This combination is what unlocks your Ancient Technologies the fastest.

Your approach to Ancient Technology Points?

Frequently asked questions

Can you farm Ancient Technology Points infinitely?
No, each boss only grants its points once. It's a truly limited farm, not an automated harvest: your progression depends entirely on your ability to take down bosses, with no passive grinding involved.
What's the best order to progress quickly?
Target tower bosses first as soon as your team is ready (they give 5 points), then clear as many field bosses as possible on your way to the next tower. This combination speeds up your progression far more than an isolated approach.
Do bosses inside dungeons grant points?
No, only tower bosses and field bosses shown with a portrait on the map count. Enemies found inside dungeons don't grant any Ancient Technology Points, even though they may offer other rewards.
How do you defeat Zoe and Grizzbolt, the first tower boss?
These level 10 opponents are Electric-type: bring an Earth-type Pal to benefit from a type advantage. Equip a crossbow, upgrade your armor, and level up a solid combat Pal before facing them, as they hit fast and hard.
