Palworld 1.0 Fiber: how to get it quickly
In brief
Fiber has become a crucial resource in Palworld 1.0, especially for crafting the Wood Planks needed for early-game structures. Three methods let you obtain it: the Crusher (the most efficient), directly harvesting by chopping trees, and defeating certain Pals — but only an automated production chain will guarantee you never run out of Fiber.
Long considered a minor resource, Fiber (Fiber) has become a key resource since Palworld 1.0: it is used in crafting the Wooden Board (Wooden Board), which is itself required by a multitude of structures. Here are the three ways to produce it, from the most efficient to the most marginal.
The Crusher (the best method)
No structure "grows" Fiber directly, but the Crusher turns 1 Wood into 2 Fiber. Assign it a Pal with the Watering skill. Its upgraded version, which is faster, runs on electricity with a Pal that has the Cooling skill. Combined with automated wood production, this is the most profitable method.

Chopping trees
Chopping down trees to gather Wood also gives you Fiber along the way. This is doubly useful: you get Fiber immediately, and the Wood obtained can later be converted back into Fiber at the Crusher. To industrialize the process without lifting a finger, place a Lumber Mill and assign it a Pal with the Lumbering skill: the wood piles up on its own, even while you're offline.
Defeating or capturing certain Pals
A few Pals drop Fiber, such as Hangyu and Hoocrates - be careful, the latter is nocturnal and can't be found during the day. This is nonetheless the least efficient method for getting large quantities: best kept as a backup.

Why Fiber is essential
Everything revolves around the Wooden Board, unlocked at level 15. Its recipe: 10 Wood, 5 Fiber and 1 Nail. This material is required by a great many early- and mid-game structures - the Mill, the Cooking Pot, the Weapon Workbench, the Pal Expedition Station, and even the Clinic. In other words, a well-stocked Fiber supply determines the pace of your entire early progression.
The winning routine
A Lumber Mill that piles up Wood non-stop, and a Crusher that converts it into Fiber. You'll never run out of Wooden Boards again.

Key takeaways
- The Crusher turns 1 Wood into 2 Fiber, making it the most profitable method, especially when paired with an automated Sawmill.
- Chopping trees immediately gives you Fiber AND Wood to convert — doubly worthwhile.
- Fiber feeds into the Wood Plank, required for the Grinder, the Cooking Pot, the Weapon Workbench, the Clinic, and many other structures.
- Hoocrates and Hangyu drop Fiber, but it's marginal — only worth it as a minor supplement.
