In Disney Dreamlight Valley, with the arrival of Hercules and Phil, new adventures begin. To unlock these two characters, you'll first need to start with the quest titled "Lunar Heroism", which we're going to detail step by step.

The Lunar Heroism quest

As soon as you arrive in Hercules' realm, a cutscene introduces you to Phil, who runs off at full speed into the scenery. Go straight ahead, then turn right before reaching the waterfall. Once you reach the fork, take the small path on the right to meet up with Phil and talk to him.

Examine the thorns and the fog

Phil needs your help: he asks you to go and examine the dark thorns and the mysterious fog at the gates of the dark woods. Cut the thorns to access a clue in the fog. After finding this clue, join Phil to share your discoveries with him. Head towards Artemis' pedestal, in the center of the clearing facing the beautiful waterfall, and talk to him.

Phil has an idea for retrieving the lunar light you need (information gathered from the clue found earlier). Equip your royal fishing rod, then head to the pool of water behind Phil, under the great waterfall. Cast your line into the shimmering ripple to catch a lunar headband. After that, return to Artemis' pedestal to put it back in place, then talk to Phil.

Gathering offerings in the clearing

Before lending you a hand, Artemis wants a few more offerings. Phil suggests it would be good to look for other items in the surrounding nature. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Shovel three piles of Greek clay: With your royal shovel, dig up the shimmering spots around the waterfall.
  2. Pick three Greek flowers: These flowers are often hidden under trees or near the large pedestals.
  3. Collect three pieces of sylvan wood: Use your shovel to dig up the tree stumps in the area. You'll often find two on the left of the waterfall and one near the pedestal.

Place the offerings on Artemis' pedestal

Return to Artemis' pedestal and interact with it to deposit the offerings you've gathered. The lunar headband will start to glow, and you'll be able to remove it and wear it to clear the path blocked by dark thorns.

With the lunar headband, follow Phil to the entrance of the arena. Once there, interact with the thorns to clear the passage. All that's left is to talk to Phil once he brings you to the entrance of the arena.

The obstacle course

Phil asks you to complete an obstacle course he's set up, and to finish it in under two minutes. Interact with the yellow banner behind him to start your run.

After completing the course, follow him to Artemis' pedestal, then clear the path of thorns once again, and activate the lunar beacons to reveal the path to follow.

Talk to Hercules

As you cross through the fog, a cutscene will trigger, and a battered Hercules will appear. Approach him and talk to him to understand what's going on. The "Lunar Heroism" quest is now complete, and you'll now be able to start the "Speedrun Accelerated Course" quest to climb one more step in your quest to unlock Hercules and Phil.
