In brief

Iron is an essential material in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar for crafting tools and completing missions. You can obtain it by mining the mountain areas of Zephyr Town with the hatchet provided by Lloyd, or buy it directly at the bazaar if you prefer not to mine.

In the adventure of Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, iron is an essential material for your career! Not only does it help you craft tools, but it's also useful for becoming more productive in your buildings or for completing certain quests.

How to find iron in Zephyr Town?

Iron partly comes from mining the different areas of Zephyr Town. At first, you'll be assisted by Lloyd, who will give you a hatchet during the “Mining Training” quest. This useful tool won't just help you work on your farm, but also mine iron.

Early in the game, you absolutely must complete Lloyd's quest, which requires 20 stones and 2 pieces of iron. So you need to head to the windmill west of the map. The mountains contain a few rocks holding iron, in sufficient quantity to satisfy Lloyd's needs, and there are several of them. You can also come back to harvest them later once they've respawned.

Even though all the mountain areas have numerous rocks containing iron, most of them are initially locked. As you progress through the adventure, you'll gain access to these other regions and thus to a greater variety of iron sources to feed your activity.

Note

If you don't feel like mining, or only want to do it briefly, know that Lloyd will be happy to sell you iron ore at the bazaar, at a price of 210 gold coins each. Rather expensive at first, and available only in small quantities, this can still be a workable solution to avoid wasting too much time.

Uses of iron for your projects

Many of the crafting items in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar require iron as a crafting component. For example:

To make a copper watering can, you need a standard watering can, 3 copper, and 1 iron. To get a copper hoe, you need a hoe, 1 iron, 1 copper, 2 wood. To make a windmill tent, you need 10 wood, 20 iron, 10 stone, and 3 warm dye. For the windmill churn, you need 10 stone and 30 iron.

Stockpiling iron from the very start of your adventure will let you take a giant leap forward in your development in Zephyr Town, and help your bazaar thrive.
