Halloween: The Game - where to find the Chapter 2 Loomis Journals
In brief
Chapter 2 of Halloween: The Game hides two Loomis Journals on the Haddonfield map. The first is located in the record store northwest of the hardware store, tied to Tanya's quest — miss it and failure is guaranteed. The second is hidden on the mantelpiece of a fireplace in the isolated house facing the cemetery, where you'll need to cut the phone lines beforehand to avoid trouble.
Chapter 2 of Halloween: The Game drops you back into the streets of Haddonfield, this time at night, in the shoes of Michael Myers. Two Loomis Journals are hidden on the map, and unlike Chapter 1, one of them is directly tied to the level's main objective. Miss it, and you risk botching your run.
Before you go hunting for collectibles, you're required to go through the shop shown in the intro cutscene. Once this scripted step is over, the town opens up entirely: shops, post office, residential houses, everything is accessible for spreading terror (and grabbing your tapes along the way).
Loomis Journal #1: in the record store
This first Loomis Journal is tucked into Tanya's quest, one of the two special victims you must hunt down in this chapter. The record store is located northwest of the hardware store. If you're struggling to find it, use your Shape Jump ability as you leave the hardware store: yellow beams falling from the sky show you the direction to follow.

As you approach, a cutscene triggers automatically, showing Tanya inside the store. Top priority: go after Tanya before worrying about the collectible. If she manages to escape, that's an automatic level failure, no matter how many tapes you have in your pocket.
Once Tanya is neutralized, head to the room with the display shelves. There, move away from the cash register: you'll find a pillar with stacked boxes right next to it. The tape is waiting for you on top of the pile.

Loomis Journal #2: in the house facing the cemetery
The Chapter 2 map is packed with optional buildings, from shops to the post office to various homes. Locate the cemetery - the large grassy area in the southeast of the map - then head back north. You'll come across an isolated, accessible house that contains the second Loomis Journal.

Enter through the front door and take the room on the right. A fireplace stands against the east wall: the tape is sitting on the mantel, clearly visible.
This house can be occupied. Two things to keep in mind before you step inside:
- Cut the phone lines ahead of time to prevent a resident from calling the police.
- Anticipate the occupants inside: if they spot you, they may run to another phone or try to flee the area.

Once you have both of these Journals in hand, you'll have collected 6 out of the 14 collectibles the game has in total.
