In brief

The Crystal Cave: Enchanted Alps quest is essential for restoring the Mountains of Merroway Cove... wait, let me keep it consistent

The Crystal Cave: Enchanted Alps quest is the essential prerequisite for restoring the Mountains of Faith in the Wishblossom Ranch expansion of Disney Dreamlight Valley. It requires you to work closely with Tinker Bell to restore the flow of pixie dust across the different biomes. To help you on this magical adventure, you'll find a detailed guide here!

How to unlock the Crystal Cave quest

To start this challenging quest, you must already have completed the Big Wheel Problem mission, at the end of which you obtained the Crystal Key to the Enchanted Alps.

Once you have the key, you need to head to the Heart of Faith and hand this precious artifact over to Tinker Bell. Thanks to her magical powers, she'll create a passage giving you access to your first trial in the Crystal Caves.

In this mysterious-feeling location, you'll be asked to discover a mechanism to activate. To open the door blocking your way, you must push a large boulder onto a pressure plate using a huge drum, so that you can stand on the second plate, which will unlock the rest of your adventure.

The three areas to explore and their crystals

During your quest, you'll meet the Faith of Hope, who tasks you with a delicate mission: destroy strange red crystals that are hindering its roots. These crystals are scattered across three areas, and each one is protected by a puzzle.

The blue area

In this first azure area, you'll have to face a spatial arrangement challenge. To your left, two pressure plates await you. And a large boulder is positioned right next to one of them, but its initial position complicates things.

To solve this puzzle, go back down a level, climb the stairs back up and go around to the other side of the boulder. From this position you can push it onto the pressure plate, then stand on the other plate to open the door: you'll then be able to destroy the first red crystal and free part of the Faith's roots.

The pink area

In the pink area, immediately spot the elevator to your left, which lets you go down to the lower level where a new puzzle awaits you.

First, kick the boulder onto the pressure plate and then go back up to the upper level. Gallop to the right, then pull the lever that will lower a bridge, revealing a second pressure plate. With this trick, you'll be able to unlock the door behind which the second crystal to destroy is hidden.

The green area

The green area is without a doubt the quietest of the three. All you need to do is take the elevator up and destroy the red crystal.

Unlocking Maximus as a mount

After destroying all the red crystals, go back and talk to the Faith of Hope. As thanks for your valuable help, it will release a glowing orb that will transform before your eyes into Maximus, the noble steed!

This new companion will join your collection of mounts to use for exploring the Mountains, and proves to be a horse capable of jumping very far, which may come in quite handy going forward...

Hop in the saddle on your new companion, and use him to get out of the Crystal Caves: he'll let you jump over gaps that would otherwise be impassable without his unique ability. Once you're out in the open, one final conversation with Tinker Bell will mark the official conclusion of the Crystal Cave: Enchanted Alps quest.
