During this quest, the Forgotten will hand you a feather before heading together to Skull Rock. In his company, you'll relive old memories of games that took place inside this mysterious island. Moved, the Forgotten confides that he wishes he could have a real name. He then offers you a choice between three names (Onyx, Jet, and Obsidian) or the option of another custom name. From that moment on, the Forgotten will use the name you chose, and will be known by this new name.
After giving him a name, the Forgotten will finally be welcomed into the valley as a full-fledged villager. From now on, you'll be able to build up your friendship level with him, find him a role, spend time with him, and earn friendship rewards from him just like with any other resident of Dreamlight Valley.
Exploring Skull Rock island
As soon as the quest “A Forgotten Name” has been completed, and the Forgotten welcomed as a permanent character, you will automatically start the mission “Shadows on the Wall,” which finally lets you access the inside of Skull Rock island, visible but inaccessible since the game's launch. The Forgotten will reveal to you that Skull Rock is now unlocked, and that you can start exploring it. Indeed, the magical barrier that protected the entrance is now broken.
Skull Rock island is southeast of Enchanted Beach. While it was visible from the very start of the game, it was not yet accessible before the “Mysteries of Skull Rock” update.
