Monster Hunter Wilds: the new DLC of August 4, 2026

On August 4, Capcom is restructuring the offering around Monster Hunter Wilds with three new packs. No new gameplay content. No new areas, no additional quests. We're talking exclusively about cosmetics.

What the packs contain

The Cosmetic DLC Collection brings together 10 packs in a single bundle: Skin Packs 1 to 4, the four Festival of Accord packs (Blossomdance, Flamefete, Dreamspell, Lumenhymn), the Deluxe pack, and the brand-new Extras pack. The latter gathers paid skins that were previously only sold individually - a convenient option for those who missed out on those targeted purchases.

The Gold Edition, meanwhile, combines the base game and the Cosmetic DLC Collection in a single purchase. A logical entry-level option for newcomers, especially combined with the permanent price cut on the base game planned for the same day.

Cosmetics only - and openly so

Let's be clear: these packs bring nothing in terms of progression or narrative content. Capcom knows this, and isn't pretending otherwise. The real massive expansion - the one expected to be comparable to Iceborne - is being developed separately. These bundles are more of a commercial operation than an actual DLC release.

In practice, Capcom talks about "streamlining" the offering, but is simply replacing three bundles with three others. The clarity isn't really any better, as the community points out.

Value for money

With no official prices announced yet, it's hard to make a judgment. But bundling 10 packs into a single purchase remains mechanically more advantageous than buying them one by one - that's the basic principle of a season pass. The Extras Pack, for hunters completing their collection, is the real concrete novelty here.
