In brief

Konami unveils 19 minutes of gameplay for Silent Hill: Townfall, the longest segment released to date. We follow Simon Ordell as he explores the Scottish island of St. Amelia armed with a detector CRTV, before crossing over into the Otherworld and facing his first enemies.

Konami isn't doing things by halves: the new Silent Hill: Townfall shows itself off for 19 minutes of continuous play, taken from two different sections. It's by far the longest segment released since the title was announced.

What the video shows

We follow Simon Ordell, called back to the Scottish island of St. Amelia to "fix things". The first part explores the waterfront district: houses, buildings, and above all the CRTV, a small portable television that reveals clues and detects signals — the object serves both as a compass and a presence detector. Next comes the exploration of Zoe's house, followed by a first hostile encounter at the eighth minute.

The shift happens at the eleventh minute: Simon enters the Otherworld of St. Amelia, gun in hand. Konami itself chaptered the video, which speaks volumes about its intention to reassure fans about the pacing and the genuine presence of combat.

Where the game stands

This is the first full Silent Hill entirely in first person. It's developed by Screen Burn Interactive, the Glasgow studio formerly known as No Code, responsible for Stories Untold and Observation — the latter picked up the BAFTA for Best British Game in 2020. Konami is co-publishing with Annapurna Interactive.

Release is set for September 24 on PS5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). The Deluxe Edition grants 48 hours of early access, and a SteelBook comes with pre-orders at select European retailers.
