Ex Sanguis: the Early Access trailer plunges us into bloody chaos
In brief
Ex Sanguis, the new title from Lightbulb Crew, arrives in Early Access on September 10 on Steam. The trailer showcases a tactical strategy game with a stunning black-and-white style, where only blood adds color to the world, featuring explosive combos and a time manipulation system to turn the tide of battle.
New trailer, new bloodbath. Lightbulb Crew, the creators of Othercide, are back at it with Ex Sanguis and its trailer accompanying the announcement of the Early Access release date (see our dedicated article on the release date).

The clip hammers home the game's visual identity: a black and white world, drained by the Purge, where only blood regains its color. The Stillae, these warriors born from the Mater's Sanguis, unleash combos in a tactical bloodbath style there - object explosions, enemies set ablaze, blocked lines of sight. We also see the famous Timeline Effects in action: speeding up, delaying, or swapping positions on the timeline to turn around a fight that seemed lost.

What has changed
Compared to the first images of Othercide, the atmosphere remains similar - same chiaroscuro aesthetic, same tactical tension - but Ex Sanguis pushes the spatial effects further: flanking, knockback, forced facing. The trailer focuses more on reading the battlefield than on narration, a sign of a game that's fully betting on the tactical depth of its roguelite loop.

A demo is currently running as part of the Six One Indie Days, ahead of the Early Access launch on Steam. For the precise schedule, head over to our article dedicated to the date announcement.
