Dreamlight Valley: Jack Sparrow lurks in the teaser

Gameloft lifted the veil on The Keepsake Sea, the fourth expansion of Disney Dreamlight Valley, during its panel at D23 on August 14. The teaser lasts less than a minute and gives the setting before the content: the valley goes underwater.

We see a mermaid swim through an underwater setting, then a hooded silhouette leaning over a treasure chest. The swaggering walk and the line that accompanies it leave little doubt as to the character's identity: Jack Sparrow, and with him Pirates of the Caribbean, which the community had been asking for since the first updates.

Clues worth noting

Two details are worth noting. The first, the mermaid: it suggests an avatar transformation rather than a simple backdrop, in line with what the game has already done with other forms. The second, the chest: Dreamlight Valley systematically builds its expansions around a currency or a specific resource, and the object is showcased quite prominently to be one.

The rest of the roadmap, meanwhile, is dated. A Disney Channel collection inspired by Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire opens on August 19, Oogie Boogie settles in as a villager for Halloween 2026, and Lilo & Stitch will close out the year with the last free update.
