Bytten Studio has given Cassette Beasts 2002 a release window: March 2027. The announcement came on August 27 in the third developer blog on Steam, alongside a trailer aired during gamescom. The studio talks about a release "on all platforms".
The official website lists Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2. The Steam page only ticks Windows and Linux: no macOS announced. No pre-orders, just the wishlist.
What's been shown since June
Announced on June 7 at the PC Gaming Show, the episode starts in London in 2002 before shifting into Nodnol, the beast world that exists in the shadow of our own. Over 250 beasts to record on cassette, twelve companions, more than 57,000 fusion forms, and online multiplayer that covers even the story battles.
The trailer also revealed part of the voice cast. On Steam, English is the only language with full audio support: the nine other languages listed are interface and subtitles only.
A demo was running at the gamescom booth, but nothing is playable on Steam yet. March 2027 is still far off, and a month without a specific day leaves some leeway. At least there's a target now.
