Stupid Never Dies: the First Bite demo lands ahead of launch
In brief
GPTRACK50 drops the First Bite demo of Stupid Never Dies on PS5 and PC Steam, and it's heavy stuff: your progress will be 100% transferable when the full release hits on October 21st. Two hours of gameplay to sample the Funky Zombie Action, featuring the three flagship mechanics and two bosses to face off against.
GPTRACK50 has just released the «First Bite» demo for Stupid Never Dies on PS5 and PC (Steam), and here's the detail that really matters: your save file will carry over into the full game upon release. No need to start everything over once you've bought the title.
The demo covers the first two hours of the game, intro cutscene included. In it, you play as Davy, a lovesick zombie and outcast in a world of monsters, whose goal is to overthrow KOM, the king of monsters. It's a chance to test out the three signature mechanics of «Funky Zombie Action»: Style Eat, which lets you devour enemies' cores to steal their powers and change your appearance; Body Hack, which upgrades arms, head and legs via Over-Technology harvested from monster corpses; and Davy Burst, the ultimate power surge once the gauge is filled up through combos. Two bosses are also playable in this slice: Afreet and the space-zboob Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers.

Offering a transferable demo is a calculated bet rather than a simple teaser. For a game backed by a studio that's still not very well known, letting players get their hands on it before purchase - without losing their progress afterwards - defuses much of the usual wariness towards an unknown action-RPG. It also gives players a reason to get a bit of a head start on farming before the actual launch.

The full game arrives on October 21 on PS5 and PC (Steam). For details on the new trailer and the characters revealed in it, head over to our dedicated article.
