In brief

In Subnautica 2, the repair tool is essential for progressing. This article guides you in locating the three blueprint fragments scattered across the ocean and gathering the materials needed to craft it.

In Subnautica 2, you'll need the repair tool to progress. This article will explain where to find the blueprint fragments for this tool, and how to craft it.

Location of the Repair Tool Fragments

You need to scan the three blueprint fragments scattered throughout the ocean of Subnautica 2.

The first one is found by following the game's main story. Follow NOA's directions to get to Chap's black box, 220 meters south of your survival pod. In a hidden cavern, several objects to scan can be found there, including the first repair tool fragment, on a table.

The second fragment is accessible by heading 250 meters southeast of your survival pod: you'll discover a large ruined underwater structure. Inside, the repair tool fragment is visible on a bench.

Note

This area has a large number of resources, don't hesitate to search around.

The third and final fragment is 350 meters northeast of your survival pod, in a ruined building. Swim under the building to enter through an opening at its base. Then head towards two closed doors, in front of which the repair tool blueprint fragment awaits you on the floor.

Tip

This area is quite deep, so it's strongly recommended to optimize your air tank to avoid running out of oxygen.

Crafting the Repair Tool

Here are the materials needed to create it:

  • Titanium Ingot (1)
  • Wiring Kit (1)
  • Basic Battery (1)
  • Sulfur (1)

Obtaining the Materials

Titanium Ingot

To craft a titanium ingot, you first need to mine raw titanium. This ore can be recovered from metal debris in your environment, or from certain rocks. You then simply need to process the raw titanium to obtain an ingot.

Wiring Kit

The wiring kit is crafted with copper and silver wire, which can be made from these same materials found in storage containers while exploring resource-rich areas.

Basic Battery

The basic battery can be found in storage crates, or crafted with copper and acid mushroom pouches.

Sulfur

Sulfur is the hardest material to obtain, as it's only found in the high-temperature volcanic biome located to the east of your survival pod. You need to have heat adaptation to be able to access it.

Once all these materials have been gathered, you'll be able to start crafting the repair tool!

Frequently asked questions

Where can you find the first repair tool fragment?
The first fragment is located 220 meters south of your Lifepod, following NOA's directions toward Chap's black box. It sits on a table inside a hidden cave.
Which material is the hardest to obtain?
Sulfur is the hardest to obtain since it's only found in the high-temperature volcanic biome east of your Lifepod, and you need the heat adaptation to access it.
Can I find the basic battery directly, or do I need to craft it?
The basic battery can be found in storage crates while exploring, or crafted using copper and acid raion pouches if you can't find one.
How many different materials are needed to craft the repair tool?
You need four types of materials: a titanium ingot, a wiring kit, a basic battery, and sulfur.

Key takeaways

  • The three fragments are located 220 m, 250 m, and 350 m from your Lifepod in different underwater zones.
  • Crafting requires a titanium ingot, a wiring kit, a basic battery, and sulfur.
  • Sulfur is the hardest material to obtain, only accessible in the volcanic biome to the east.
  • Optimize your air tank before visiting deep zones to avoid running out of oxygen.
