Subnautica 2 Flashlight: Unlock and Crafting

In Subnautica 2, the flashlight quickly becomes essential. In this article, we offer you a step-by-step guide on how to unlock and craft this must-have piece of equipment.

Where to find the flashlight fragments

To acquire the flashlight, you absolutely must find two fragments. The first one is located in the first destroyed facility, fairly close to your survival pod. Enter through the main entrance and go left. In the corner is a terminal where the fragment is located, which you need to scan. Once this is done, return to your pod to search for the second fragment.

The second fragment is located to the east of your pod, in a cave at around 110 meters depth, between 250 and 300° to the northwest. You'll spot a cluster of coral emerging from the water's surface, beneath which the cave awaits; a current will pull you further down. Inside the cave, you'll find lab equipment, a piece of the Wavemaker, a portable locker, but most importantly, the last piece of the flashlight, which you'll scan to complete your quest.

Crafting the flashlight

The required resources are as follows:

• 2 x titanium: you'll easily find this fairly common ore in caves near the pod.
• 1 x quartz: this whitish, milky-looking mineral can be found near the coral.
• 1 x basic battery: to obtain this battery, you'll need two copper and one acid mushroom sample.

Open the Fabricator, locate the flashlight blueprint, and insert the necessary resources to start crafting. And there you have it: you now own the flashlight, which will let you explore areas that were previously inaccessible!
