SAROS Walkthrough: How to Get the True Ending After Act 3

Contrary to popular belief, Saros doesn’t end when Act 3 concludes. Indeed, it’s possible to access an alternate ending by performing a few actions. This article will explain how to unlock this secret ending.

Discovering the Yellow Shore

Don’t quit the game when the ending sequence appears after the fight against the ruler of the final biome, the Yellow Shore. There are still secrets left to discover! A notification will appear, encouraging you to explore further to uncover the remaining mysteries.

Return to the Passage

At the end of Act 3, by returning to the Passage, you receive a message mentioning mysteries to solve. At first, the initial objective is to find the source of the signal in the Shattered Climb. To do this, you need to fast travel to the beginning of the third biome. By going back to the building where you already completed an earlier mission, you’ll find Kayla again. She’ll tell you she heard on the radio about a meeting with Arjun at a red tree.

After your conversation with Kayla, return to the Passage and travel to the 4th biome, the Foul Marshes. Cross it until you reach the Nightmare Shores door, where you’ll quickly spot a red tree, at which point a cutscene will trigger, followed by a conversation with Kiira.

Visiting the Cathedral

Kiira will advise you to go visit the Cathedral, particularly Nitya's Laboratory. This step was actually an optional quest choice you were supposed to get during your first exploration of the Cathedral, just before the fight against the Priestess. Go back there to progress, and once inside, check the paths on the sides and knock down the bell. This will open a small hole in the center, allowing you to jump down and search the hologram. After exploring, return to the Passage and talk to Kayla again, who will explain how to visit the Banyan, which works similarly to the house segments in Returnal.

Note

The Banyan segments appear throughout the main story, but only two are accessible before the epilogue. If you've already completed them, you can enter the tree and finish the third segment. If not, you'll need to complete them one after another!

Facing the truth

After completing the Banyan segments, it's time to head back to the Yellow Shore and go before the king. Defeat him, but be careful, don't be too eager to interact with the boss. Instead, follow the path behind him, and you'll trigger the final cutscene. Savor this moment, as you'll discover the game's alternate ending there. Essential for getting the "Let Go" trophy!
