How to access the Nakajima Ice Cave
To discover the entrance to this icy cave, you must first head towards Lake Sarobetsu where the Nakajima Sake House is located. Once there, head west until you discover the entrance to the cavern. You will immediately notice that access is blocked by two fox statues, this is the first Kitsune puzzle you will need to solve.
The solution consists of rotating the statues so that they end up back to back, which will open a gap wide enough for you to slip inside. Once in the cave, make a jump to spot a platform equipped with a grappling hook at your disposal.
After using the grappling hook, you will need to climb a wall to reach the second Kitsune puzzle, which is also relatively simple, as this time you just need to turn the statue twice so it faces the light located at the other end. This action will cause ropes to appear, allowing you to progress by successive jumps towards the heart of the Nakajima Ice Cave.
Exploration and challenges inside the cave
The interior of the cave is guarded by a few enemies, which is why you need to be stealthy, especially since the scenery is full of bushes that can be useful for your movements. Another danger awaits you in this area, cold damage; equip the Taro Armor if possible to withstand this biting cold.
After neutralizing all your enemies, head to the Kitsune puzzle located in front of the center of the area, the last one you need to solve. It involves placing the statues so that they face each other, which will cause the rope allowing you to cross the chasm to appear. You will then be able to continue your progress and reach the Altar of Reflection by jumping from platform to platform.
