In brief

Echo of the Ancients, Heartopia's new celebration, kicks off on August 29 for six weeks, but be warned: three key pieces of content only arrive afterward, including the limited birds on September 5 and the Collection Challenge on the 12th. A staggered schedule that catches out anyone hoping to get everything from day one.

XD detailed on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 the upcoming village celebration in Heartopia: Echo of the Elders. It starts on August 29 at 6 a.m. and runs until October 10 at 5:59 a.m., server time.

Six weeks is a long time, and that's precisely the trap. Two of the announced contents are not available on launch day: the limited birds arrive on September 5, and the Collection Challenge on the 12th. A player who tours the village on the morning of the 29th will wrongly conclude that the celebration is thinner than announced.

Getting in: level 7 and a tutorial quest

Two conditions, and they're low ones:

  • Level 7;
  • having completed the main tutorial quest [The Answer Is Here].

In other words, any account created on the same day can access it right away. There's no progression wall on this celebration.

The Echo of the Elders Handbook, the heart of the system

Everything starts from the Echo of the Elders Handbook. Once unlocked, it lists objectives that pay out in three distinct currencies, and it's important to keep them separate because they don't serve the same purpose:

CurrencyWhere it comes fromWhat it's used for
Celebration TokensHandbook objectives, celebration missions, selling items to AzurePurchasing at the celebration shop
Celebration PointsHandbook objectives and daily missionsRaising the celebration level, which unlocks tier rewards
Stars of HappinessHandbook objectivesVillage progression currency

The announced level rewards include the blueprints for the [Raw Nest] furniture set, a "Horned Totem Materials Bag," and additional Celebration Tokens.

The handbook also includes an exclusive collection for the celebration, featuring 18 Temporary Exhibition Passes, Stars of Happiness, a materials bag, and limited-edition passion collectibles.

The Celebration Pack, and the premium version you can buy afterward

The Celebration Pack releases at the same time as the handbook. By purchasing it and raising the celebration level, XD announces a total of 36 Exhibition Passes and 300 Diamond Hearts, plus:

  • the outfit sets [Wild Dance - Hope] and [Wild Dance - Blessing];
  • a portion of the building materials for the [Echo of the Savanna] set;
  • the instrument skin "Amber Ocarina";
  • the tool skin "BBQ Chew Bone."

It comes in two versions, the Celebration Pack and the Premium Celebration Pack, the latter adding Celebration Points and other rewards. The detail that avoids a poor decision: buying the standard pack doesn't lock you in, "it is possible to upgrade to the premium version" afterward. So there's no need to decide on August 29.

Azure, and the rule that decides your tokens

The celebration shop opens from the manual or by talking to Azure, near the fashion outfit shop, in the center of the village. There you spend Celebration Tokens on solo actions and celebration products: "Sleepy Doll Figurine", "Bone Model Figurine", "Calf Pet Sofa", "Raw Nature Outfit".

Azure also buys back certain specific items in exchange for tokens — a source not to forget if the manual is capped.

And above all, the closing rule: unused tokens are converted into coins at a 1-to-1 rate and sent by mail after the event ends. It's not a dead loss, but a token spent at the shop is clearly worth more than a coin. Empty your balance before October 10.

The three pieces of content that don't open on August 29

This is the point the announcement buries under everything else. Three blocks are dated separately:

Date (server time)What opens
August 29, 6 AMManual, shop, pack, limited cooking, limited seeds, limited fish and insects
September 5, 6 AMLimited birds only
September 12, 6 AM → September 26, 5:59 AMCollection Challenge

The limited species announced: several varieties of gars, fireflies, rhinoceros beetles, and hoopoes. The first three categories can be fished and caught starting on the 29th; hoopoes cannot. No point spending the first weekend staring at trees.

The Collection Challenge, meanwhile, only runs for two weeks in the middle of the celebration: you drop the requested items into the challenge box in front of your home, or help other players complete their deposits. A fourteen-day window inside a six-week event: it's the easiest date to miss.

Cooking, crops, and tiles: where to go

  • Cooking — the "Simple Terracotta Stove" and limited ingredients allow you to prepare the exclusive dishes. Recipes and ingredients are sold by Massimo starting August 29, 6 AM.
  • CropsGiant Lily and Prickly Pear seeds arrive in Blanc's shop, same date.
  • Tiles — the Builders' Association has scattered tile ambiance elements that can be gathered in the Thermal Mountain ruins area and in the Spirit Oak Forest. Upon extraction, you get pieces of "Capybara Tile" or "Walking Oak Tile", or the "Drillable Stone" capsule. Pieces from the same series can be assembled, and a complete series yields a full tile decoration.

The ocarina, and the two social events

The celebration adds a new instrument, the ocarina, also put up for sale at Annie's music shop — so it's accessible even without going through the pack.

Two events run in parallel, over exactly the same window as the celebration (August 29, 6 AM → October 10, 5:59 AM):

  • [Rhythm of Nature] — a face-to-face interaction with a friend, every day. After 7 days, the exclusive two-player interaction of the same name is unlocked for both players. Progress is tracked separately for each friend: nothing stops you from running several counters at the same time.
  • [Ancient Breath] — find the bubbles shown in the interface to recover the hidden emojis.

One last cosmetic but visible detail: during Echo of the Ancients, the mailbox in front of your home gets decorated according to the number of likes received during the period. The more you get, the more the decoration evolves.

The first week's plan

  1. August 29 — unlock the manual, complete the objectives that grant Celebration Points, buy seeds from Blanc (they grow, so you might as well start the cycle right away) and recipes from Massimo.
  2. Every day — daily missions: this is the only regular source of Celebration Points, and therefore of celebration level.
  3. Starting on the 29th — start a [Rhythm of Nature] counter with one or more friends, since it requires seven consecutive days of interaction.
  4. September 5 — check back for the hoopoes.
  5. September 12 — the Collection Challenge opens, and it closes on the 26th.
  6. Before October 10 — spend your Celebration Tokens at Azure's.

All times mentioned are server times, as published by XD. The announcement gives no equivalent in any real-world time zone: check your server's in-game clock before setting an alarm around a deadline.

Frequently asked questions

Do I really have to wait until September 5 to get all the limited birds?
Yes, hoopoes only arrive on September 5 at 6 AM. The other limited species (gars, fireflies, rhinoceros beetles) can be fished or caught starting August 29, but not these. Don't waste your first weekend scanning trees for nothing.
What changes if I buy the premium Pack instead of the standard one?
The premium adds Celebration Points and other rewards, but you don't have to decide on day one: upgrading to the premium version afterward is possible. Get the standard on the 29th and decide later.
What happens to my Celebration Tokens if I have any left after October 10?
They convert to coins at a 1-to-1 rate and arrive by mail. It's not a total loss, but a token spent at the shop is worth far more than a coin, so spend down your balance before the end.
Is the Collection Challenge available throughout the whole celebration?
No, it opens on September 12 and closes on the 26th — just fourteen days in the middle of a six-week event. It's the easiest date to miss, so set a reminder.
Is level 7 really achievable on day one?
Yes, any account created on day one can reach it: all it takes is level 7 and finishing the tutorial's main quest. There's no progression wall, no frustration at this stage.

Key takeaways

  • The Echo of the Ancients Handbook is the key: it hands out three distinct currencies that don't serve the same purpose, so make sure to keep them separate.
  • Three major pieces of content arrive after August 29 — birds on September 5, Collection Challenge on the 12th — so the village will feel thinner than advertised on the first weekend.
  • Unspent Celebration Tokens convert to coins after October 10 at a 1-to-1 rate, so it's best to spend your stock at Azure's before the cutoff.
  • The Celebration Pack doesn't lock you in: upgrading from the standard to the premium version afterward is still possible, giving you time to decide.
  • The Collection Challenge only runs for fourteen days in the middle of the event — it's the easiest date to miss over six weeks.
