To successfully take down a Bombardier, you need to bring the right equipment:
Primary weapon: A heavy ammo weapon is preferable for its ability to properly penetrate ARC armor. The Anvil or the Ferro are among the best choices for this kind of fight. Heavy ammo will pierce the armor well and allow you to deal damage to the Bombardier's weak points.
Secondary weapon: A weapon that deals damage at medium to long range will do the job. The Arpeggio is a personal recommendation, but of course it's better to bring a weapon you're comfortable with. Having a Hullcracker would make taking down this Bombardier much easier.
Utility gear: Incendiary Grenades will come in handy for this mission. You'll need, at minimum, three grenades in your inventory. These take advantage of the Bombardier's high vulnerability to fire. You might find some while looting the environment, or by crafting them at a level 3 Explosives Station (if you have the necessary blueprints).

Once you've spotted the Bombardier in one of the areas mentioned above, use this strategy to defeat it while recovering its Impulse Unit:
- Before engaging in combat, find yourself some cover. For example, if the Bombardier is spotted near the Hydroponics Dome Complex, you'll want to position yourself in a doorway. In the case of a fight near the Water Treatment Center elevator, the nearby Field Depot offers excellent cover.
- Eliminate other threats first, such as Wasps or ARC Hornets present in the environment, so you're not overwhelmed during the main fight.
- Draw the Bombardier's attention by shooting its eye with your heavy ammo weapon. The Bombardier cannot enter confined spaces, allowing you to stay safe.
- Start burning it with an Incendiary Grenade aimed at its eye; meanwhile, keep shooting its eye with your weapons. Once the grenade's effect wears off, throw another one to maintain the burn damage.
- Stay alert for its special attacks, namely its crushing leap or its EMP discharge. Keep in mind that mid-fight, the Bombardier may try to retreat, so stay on your guard to follow it.
