No Man's Sky (€49.99) as a Game Trial until August 26
In brief
No Man's Sky is available as a free trial for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers from August 20 to 26. Six days to try out space exploration before investing €49.99, with no discount attached to the trial.
No Man's Sky, sold for €49.99 on the French eShop, is being offered as a "Game Trial" to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The full game is playable from Thursday, August 20 at 10 a.m. until Wednesday, August 26 at 11:59 p.m., local time.
It's the Switch version that is being distributed, but the upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 edition is still shown at €0.00. Nothing is kept afterwards: you need to buy the game to continue. And contrary to the usual practice for this format, the eShop doesn't attach any discount to the trial: €49.99 for both versions.
Six days is short
Hello Games is celebrating the game's tenth anniversary, released in August 2016, and ten years of free updates that turned a botched launch into a benchmark for space exploration. In six days, you get to see the first systems, the ship, the base, the multi-tool. Not the end-game content.
The trial is worth checking out if the game has been tempting you for years without you taking the plunge. Less useful, however, if you've already decided to buy it: at full price, you're better off waiting for an eShop sale.
