In brief

CD PROJEKT RED and Blizzard Entertainment are officially joining forces: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered will land on Battle.net on September 29, 2026, alongside the other platforms. It's a major turning point for Blizzard's launcher, which is finally opening up to third-party games after years of being closed off.

CD PROJEKT RED and Blizzard Entertainment announced their partnership on August 25, during gamescom's Opening Night Live. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered will launch on Battle.net on September 29, 2026, the same day as on other platforms, with pre-orders already open. The Songs of the Past expansion, title kept in English, will follow there in 2027.

It's the least talked-about announcement of the evening, and the most unusual one. Battle.net has never been an open storefront: the launcher only carries Blizzard games, later joined by Activision's. A single-player RPG published by a Polish third party settling in there is a first.

The studio points out that its parent company, CD PROJEKT, distributed Blizzard games in Poland back in the 1990s, StarCraft included. The circle now closes the other way around.

A Geralt outfit in Diablo IV in return

Each brings its audience to the other. Players who buy Songs of the Past on Battle.net will unlock a Geralt-inspired outfit in Diablo IV, both when pre-orders open and after launch. Both teams will show more at BlizzCon in September.

The rest remains unannounced: nothing on content exclusivity, nothing on the expansion's price, nothing on CD PROJEKT RED's other games. The publisher only says that this launch is just "the beginning" of the partnership.
