Ubisoft has announced Echoes of Central Park, the third expansion for The Division 2 since its launch in 2019. Five years after Warlords of New York, the studio returns to a true expansion with a horror-themed atmosphere centered on Central Park transformed into a mass grave. No date or price has been announced yet.

Ubisoft revealed the name of the next expansion for The Division 2 during its gamescom panel on Wednesday, August 26: Echoes of Central Park. For a game released on March 15, 2019, this will only be the third one.

The timeline says it all about the wait. Warlords of New York arrived on March 3, 2020 and remained the only expansion for more than five years, until Battle for Brooklyn on May 27, 2025. For the past fifteen months, Ubisoft has only delivered seasons: Crossroads, The Pact, Mutiny, Rise Up, Into the Dark, and Red Horizon, launched on August 27.

On substance, the publisher remains tight-lipped. Central Park served as a mass grave during the outbreak, the expansion opens on a distress call coming from within the park, and the atmosphere will lean on fear rather than firefights. No date, no price, no confirmed platforms: the Year 8 roadmap places this "new DLC" among the year's upcoming content, alongside an unnamed season 4 and crossplay, expected in November.

Ubisoft is presenting this crossplay feature as the most requested addition by its community. The rest will drop on Thursday, September 24 at 4:00 PM UTC — 6:00 PM CEST — during a showcase billed as a "world gameplay reveal." Massive Entertainment, for its part, is still developing The Division 3, announced in 2023 and still without details.
