Ubisoft has officially announced Rainbow Six Tactics, a fully single-player turn-based tactical game slated for 2027 on PC and current consoles. A radical shift for the franchise, which drops Siege's competitive multiplayer in favor of an XCOM-style experience featuring 15 agents and 45 missions across the globe.

Ubisoft lifted the veil on Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Tactics during gamescom's Opening Night Live. This isn't a new FPS: it's a turn-based tactical game, entirely single-player, announced for 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The pivot is complete. The franchise has lived for ten years on Siege and its competitive multiplayer, and you have to go back to Rainbow Six Vegas 2, in 2008, to find a solo campaign. The project had been circulating in leaks since spring 2025; it's now official. Ubisoft places the player in the role of Six, at the head of the Rainbow unit.

The publisher announces 15 agents drawn from Rainbow Six Siege, each with their own abilities, gadgets and skill tree, and more than 45 locations spread around the world. The objectives are familiar: hostage rescue, bomb defusal, target elimination. Between missions, players develop their HQ and train their agents. The Breach feature is used to plan a synchronized assault by the whole squad, destructible walls included.

The comparison to XCOM keeps coming up among the press and players alike: it comes from them, not from Ubisoft. The publisher gives neither a precise date nor a price, with the Steam page simply stating "2027". Good news, though: the game will be fully dubbed in French.
