In brief

After more than twenty years of existence as a tabletop game, Infinity finally gets its video game adaptation with HexaDome Tactics. This turn-based tactical title lands on Steam on September 10 with 1v1 PvP duels, a narrative campaign, and a dynamic card system activated by secondary objectives.

It's been over twenty years since Infinity has existed as a tactical board game, carried by Corvus Belli and its community of hardcore wargamers. And yet, the universe had never had a proper video game adaptation. That's over now: Infinity: HexaDome Tactics fills this gap, with a release date now confirmed.

The game will be available on September 10th on Steam. Format: turn-based tactical arena, 1v1 PvP duels, narrative PvE campaign to discover the lore. It features the mechanics expected from the genre - positioning, cover, traps, overwatch - enriched by a system of tactical cards activated by fulfilling side objectives in the arena.

For a niche license closely followed by tactical wargame enthusiasts, the announcement of a digital adaptation had been hoped for for a long time without ever materializing. The claimed comparison with XCOM and Into the Breach sets the bar high, and the bet of grafting on an online competitive layer in the style of tactical esports is the real issue to watch.

The trailer is circulating (see our dedicated article) and gives a first glimpse of the art direction.
