Phasmophobia: The latest update adds a watch that revolutionizes hunts
In brief
Phasmophobia's 'Characters' patch introduces an interactive watch attached to the player's wrist that displays a real-time countdown before a hunt and, most importantly, a ghost proximity indicator. This revolutionary accessory vibrates and flashes red when the entity is lurking nearby, giving you a few precious seconds to escape the spirit.
The latest patch for Phasmophobia, titled 'Personalisation', integrates the player's watch, a new interactive accessory that will revolutionize your ghost hunts. Strapped to your avatar's wrist, it displays the status of hunts in real time. It gives you access to: a countdown before a possible hunt, and above all, a proximity indicator when the ghost is prowling. Just imagine: no more need to nervously glance at the truck's clock or count the seconds in pitch darkness, a glance at your watch is enough to know if the spirit is right next to you or sulking in its favorite room.
This gadget elegantly ties in with existing mechanics, during a hunt the watch vibrates, and above all, flashes red if the entity is nearby thanks to a small retro screen, giving you a few precious seconds of respite in case of a sprint towards a locker or a bed. Tested in Training mode (step 11), it complements tools like incense - you'll need to light one to gain 2 to 5 seconds of grace, depending on difficulty - or crucifixes which reveal their range of effect. It doesn't stop cursed hunts (only a 1 second delay), but it boosts survival on Professional or Nightmare difficulty.
Kinetic Games elevates cooperative horror with a touch of vintage - who said watches were old-fashioned?
