Marvel Rivals Season 8.5: Cyclops arrives, 18v18 mode, and a scorching summer on the menu!

Season 8.5 of Marvel Rivals, one of the most ambitious in the game's history, revolves around the highly anticipated integration of Cyclops, leader of the X-Men and new Duelist-type hero. With his optic blasts, this character allows players to manage lines of sight, ricochet shots off walls, and above all open up decisive breaches in the opposing team's defensive thinking.

In terms of content, this update adds the new battle map K'un-Lun: Shenloong Arena, added to the exclusive Bounty Annihilation mode in 18 vs 18 with no hero limits, allowing for completely chaotic clashes, at least on paper, since it's theoretically possible to field several full teams of the same character, much to the delight of fans of large-scale brawls.

The patch adds a wave of buffs, nerfs and adjustments to team abilities, including a new Team-Up Blast Slash linking Cyclops to Wolverine, which benefits from improved attack range.

Finally, the mood shifts into vacation mode with the Summer Festival 2026 event: a series of "swimsuit" skins for Emma Frost, Doctor Strange, Cloak & Dagger, Spider-Man, Mister Fantastic, Hela, Daredevil, Black Widow, Captain America and White Fox, all accompanied by a new social hub, Hellfire Bay Beach, and seasonal features such as the 616 Day Vault chest and the Path to Doomsday progression path.
