Genshin Impact 6.7: Sandrone arrives with Luna VIII

The 6.7 update for Genshin Impact, titled "Luna VIII", will roll out on live servers on July 1st, following the traditional wait of five hours of maintenance. It will bring the long-awaited arrival of Sandrone, a new 5★ character, in phase 1.

What's changing in phase 1

The addition of Sandrone comes alongside the rerun of Citlali on the character banners, and a dedicated Epitome Invocation - all three available until July 21st. Competitive players and those who missed Citlali during her first window will make her the obvious goal. Phase 2 (July 21st - August 11th) will follow up with Columbina and the rerun of Raiden Shogun. A relatively generous double pull.

Content and events

Luna VIII is centered around the Sunny Summer Fontinalia summer event, continuing in the Fontaine setting. No new structural game mode has been announced at this stage, with event content once again standing as the main showcase, as is often the case mid-cycle.

Community reception

The attention around Sandrone is obvious: the character has been long awaited by a rather significant portion of the player base. On the critical side, some bitterly regret the absence of new endgame content in this patch. Raiden's rerun in phase 2 is also divisive - she's a powerful character but has already been rerun several times, which naturally makes her less appealing to veterans.
