In brief

Electronic Arts unveils the final trailer for Star Wars Zero Company, ten days before release. The studio confirms Captain Rex's return and emphasizes turn-based tactical storytelling, far from an action game.

Electronic Arts has released the final trailer for Star Wars Zero Company, ten days ahead of launch. It mainly serves as a reminder of what the game really is: a solo turn-based tactics game, not an action game, and its most compelling selling point remains a familiar face.

The video indeed confirms the return of Captain Rex, a central figure of the Clone Wars for anyone who has followed the animated series. The rest sticks to the pitch: players take on the role of Hawks, a former Republic officer placed in command of Zero Company squad, sent against an emerging threat in the final months of the conflict.

What the trailer adds

Compared to the gameplay presentation from June, the focus shifts toward storytelling and squad composition. We catch glimpses of the announced archetypes — from the smuggler to the astromech droid, all the way to a Jedi — as well as the bond system between squadmates, which unlocks synergies as missions progress. The studio also emphasizes the consequences of player choices, presented as making playthroughs diverge.

The game is developed by Bit Reactor, founded by former Firaxis staff, with support from Respawn Entertainment. It launches on August 27 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, priced at €49.99, with French subtitles and interface.
